Today, Im going to talk about Unit 4 Wheres my schoolbag? Section A 1b from Book 1. My presentation consists of five parts:Part 1 Teaching
2、 aimsPart 2 Analysis of teaching materialPart 3 Analysis of studentsPart 4 Teaching methodsPart 5 Teaching proceduresWell, Ill present my ideas in detail step by step in the following.Part 1 Teaching aimsThe teaching aims include three aims: Knowledge aim, ability aim and moral aim. Knowledge aim is
3、 to enable Ss to recognize the target language: Nouns about objects and prepositions. Ability aim is to improve Ss ability of listening. Moral aim is to urge Ss to form a good living habit in their daily life, which is to encourage Ss to help their parents tidy the house.Part 2 Analysis of teaching
4、materialTeaching material can be analyzed from three aspects: Status and function, teaching key&difficult point and teaching aids.Status and function This is the second period of the lesson. Ss ll encounter the key words of Unit 4. This period plays an important role in this unit. Its a listening te
5、xt, which aims to provide a listening practice about the location of objects with target language. Such a topic is related to our daily life, its helpful to raise Ss learning interest and also helpful to foster Ss ability of listening. Teaching key and difficult pointTherere 2 main points to be solv
6、ed in this period:The key point is to improve Ss ability of listening. The difficult point is to enable Ss to recognize target language.As for teaching aids, the cards, microphone, whiteboard and multi-media devices are going to be applied in this period.Part 3 Analysis of studentsThe students in my
7、 class are curious, active, and fond of all kinds of activities. They enjoy studying English in a relaxing atmosphere. So I will try to design some games and activities to raise their learning interest.Part 4 Teaching methodsThe teaching process must be Ss-centered, effective and meaningful. So Ill
8、mainly use the TPR (Total Physical Response) method, audiolingual-visual method and writing while listening method to facilitate the teaching procedures.Part 5 Teaching proceduresIll explain the procedures from three steps, which are guessing game, listening and post-listening.Step 1 Guessing gameHa
9、nd out cards to each student, there are 3 zones on the cards. Let Ss guess what things are in the three zones. Ss have 2 minutes to finish it. Then, encourage students to show their cards and praise the one who did best. Which aims to refer back to the words in 1a and help them form a good living ha
10、bit, that is to put things in order and put things in right places.Step 2 While-listeningPlay the tape of 1b twice. For the first time, let students number the things in the picture (1-4) and finish the task of part 1b. Then, play the tape again to check the answers. The purpose of this step is to f
11、oster students ability of listening to the nouns about objects in sentences.Step 3 Post-listeningActivity 1: Reactions testThe teacher puts the keys in books, then says, Where are my keys? Oh, they are in the book. Next, put the keys on / under the book and ask students the same question. After that
12、, ask students to listen to the teacher, when teacher says, Your pen is in / on / under your book, the students act as the teacher has told. According to students reactions, the teacher can check out how many students understand the prepositions (in / on / under) well and have the students recognize
13、 the target language in natural speech.Activity 2: Memory challenge Let students look at the screen and the teacher shows some flash and says some sentences about the location of objects, ask students to judge Tor F(F for false, T for true). At first the teacher says the wrong objects deliberately and then change to the wrong prepositions. This activity is helpful for students to consolidate the nouns about objects and the prepositions.Activity 3: Fill in the blanks.This process is to have students write down the prepositions while lis
