The depth of trial trench shall not exceed 1.5 meters in general, 2.0 meters in special cases so as to ascertain the presence of any cable/gas pipeline/other utility. In case, no cable or other utility ser

The trial at pit first shall be excavated up to a depth of 1.2m.Extra care like shoring (detailed procedure mentioned below), battering or other means to support the pit shall be taken while removing the soil near the utilities after excavating to a depth of 2.0 m, the trail pit will

37、 be again checked manually for pipes/cables. If utility is identified then the pit will be excavated to required depth manually. If not, the trail pit will be terminated at 2.0m depth. The utilities found in the trial pit shall be protected by steel boards or other suitable means as per the utility

38、authority. In case of accidental damage to the utility, it should be immediately informed to the concern authorities of utility and client.6.8 Shoring Bracing or shoring of trenches shall be carried along with the excavations. Trenches 6.56 feet (2 meters) or deeper must be shored or sloped back to

39、the angle of repose. Any excavation in unstable ground will require shoring or sloping. An adequate supply of materials such as timbers, trench sheets & props with which to shore the sites of excavation must be delivered to the site before starting excavation. Material used for sheeting, shoring or
