文档简介
1.Parents need to make sure their children lead healthy lives. What can parents do to help their children have healthy lifestyles?Well, I think parents should behave themselves in the first place. If they go to bed early, get up early and never stay up at night, their children will follow their example. So parents should try not to backbite, not to swear and not to be angry with their children easily. Children will definitely learn from them. In addition, parents should provide children with good physical environment. If they keep their house or apartment clean, and always do the laundry timely, I believe children will also keep their room and themselves neat and clean. In a word, parents habits always influence their childrens.2.Some university students choose to take difficult classes even if they know they might not get a good grade in the class. Other students prefer to take easier classes in which they know they will get a good grade. Which do you prefer? Explain whyI prefer to take difficult classes even if I might not get a good grade. When we think we may not get a good grade in a course, it doesnt mean this is certain thing. It only means that the course is pretty challenging. And I am a person who likes to take challenges because thats what I think the best way to improve myself. In the process, Ill have to learn many new things. And I always have to push myself to try harder. However, taking easier classes is like staying in a safe zone. You may feel comfortable but you never improve.3.The man expresses his opinion about the proposal described in the letter. Briefly summarize the proposal. Then state his opinion about the proposal and explain the reasons he gives for holding that opinion. The writer proposes that the students should be allowed to go into the movie collection area because this will make it easier for students to choose and university will have no need to pay extra staff. However, the man in the conversation thinks this is a bad proposal. First of all, he says that its not difficult to choose the video right now. Students can use the computer system to search the movies and they see whether a movie is available or not easily. Also, they can search movies by categories such as titles, actors and key words. Secondly, he says that the staffs are students. They need the money to pay for books and living. Plus, the money isnt much so the university wont feel any pressure by paying the staffs.4.Use the examples from the professors lecture. Explain the concept of mental accounting.Mental accounting is a tendency to put money in different categories as if in different bank accounts. This will make it difficult for people to save money. The professor uses himself as an example to illustrate the concept. When he was a young man, he worked in an office and he got a regular salary. He also worked as a waiter and earned some money. At that time, he decided to buy a house. He saved all the money from office but used the money from being a waiter to buy videos and CDs or to eat out. So he treated the money differently. It turned out that it took him longer time to buy the house than it would if he saved both the money from working in the office and from working as a waiter.5.Briefly summarize the problem the speakers are discussing. Then state which of the two solutions from the conversation you would recommend. Explain the reasons for your recommendation. The girl is having a conflict. Her grandma is flying to visit her tomorrow. But at the same time, she is going to have a biology review session. There are two possible solutions. First solution is that she goes to pick up her grandma herself. But shell miss the review session, which is very helpful for exams. Second solution is that she can ask her friend Mary to help pick up her grandma. But Mary doesnt know her grandma and grandma may not feel comfortable. If I were the girl, I would choose to pick up my grandma because grandma wont feel comfortable meeting stranger. Even if I cant go to the review session, I can ask the classmates for notes. I can still do well in the exam.6.Use the example of the owl and the wolf, explain how two special body features have helped Arctic animals adapt to the cold. The professor talks about two body features that help Arctic animals adapt to the cold. The first body feature is the covering on the feet. She uses owl as an example. Because the Arctic environment is full snow and ice, if animals walk on the snowy and icy surface, its easy to lose heat. Owl has a special feather on its feet so that it doesnt need to touch on the cold ground when its walking. This can help it stay warm. The second feature is a c
