认知语法意象理论在古诗翻译中的应用 摘要 古诗是中国文化中的瑰宝，不少译者致力于古诗的翻译工作，并取得了不 菲成绩。但是古诗因为其丰富意象，独特句式，文化内涵等又常常给译者造成困 难，有些学者甚至认为诗歌不可译。特别是古诗翻译的评价工作，因为没有系统 理论的支撑，往往成为随想，印象式的批评。在这方面，认知语法提供了一条新 的语言学评价途径。 l a n g a c k e r 等人认为对语言的描述应参照人的一般认知规律，并主张用认知 来解释语法结构，提出了著名的“意象论 。他所谓的意象与文学中所提的意象 有所不同，是指不同人对同一情景所形成不同的识解。他认为四种因素- 选择、 视角、突显和详略度影响意象的形成。不同的意象反映在语言中就是说话者不同 的陈述方式。本文就是运用了以上理论，对古诗的英文译本进行了分析评价。因 为古诗的短小精悍，它同时充满了空白和模糊，译者可做出多样的解释。每一首 诗都可以看作是一个独特的情景，而译者的不同译本就是对其不同的识解。从单 词，句式到篇章结构，无不是译者的精心选择，而每一个选择后都有其目的和动 机。本文运用了l a n g a c k e r 的意象论来探讨以上选择与作者认知与思维的关系， 并寻求文学效果的心理真实性。
