摘要礼貌是人类文明的标志，是构建和谐社会不可缺少的重要因素。作为各种文化共有的现象，礼貌制约着人们的言行、协调着人们的社会关系和交际活动。不同的文化中，礼貌又具有不同的特征。由于文化背景的差异，不同民族对礼貌的理解不尽相同，所遵循的礼貌原则和判断标准也千差万别。l e e c h 的礼貌原则在一定程度上完善了合作原则，指出人们违反合作原则是为了礼貌的需要。顾日国在此基础上对汉语进行研究，指出汉语礼貌有极大的独特性，并从汉文化的角度提出了适用于中国文化环境的礼貌准则。但是随着时代变化，汉语的礼貌表达也发生着变化，有被英语趋同的倾向。顾日国的礼貌原则能否完全适用于汉语的日常交际遭到质疑。鉴于此，本文以l e e c h 的礼貌原则和顾日国的礼貌准则为理论框架，试图对英汉礼貌进行对比分析。本文选取了较为接近口语的电影语言，从十部当代中美电影中选取有代表性的礼貌表达方式( 称谓语、招呼语、分手语，恭维语及其回答语) 进行归纳、分类。并采用对比分析的方法比较了这些语言在不同人际关系间表达方式的异同，以及在使用频率及分布方面的差异。对比结果表明：( 1 ) 礼貌表达在英汉两种文化中存在着差异，汉语言与英语相比具有自己的独特性：打招呼时倾向于询问隐私；称呼语中倾向使用亲属称渭；习惯拒绝恭维语。( 2 )但是，这些特性随着时代的变化也在发生变化，在现代交际中已经趋向弱化。现代汉语中人们经常使用“肼”和“盘弦”作为招呼语和告别语，对于恭维语人们倾向于表示感谢而不是完全拒绝。由此可见顾日国的礼貌准则己不能完全适用于现代汉语。本研究最后对顾日国的礼貌准则中的贬己尊人准则，称呼准则，和文雅准则提出修正意见，期望有助于英语学习者更好地掌握在不同人际关系中礼貌语言的表达，防止语用失误。本研究的发现对于英汉礼貌用语的翻译和英语教学也将起到一定的启示作用。由于所选课题涉及面较广，鉴于在取样，材料搜集等方面存在局限性，许多问题有待于继续研究。关键词：礼貌；对比分析；人际关系a
