A group of animals lived happily in Zuchkermans barn including a pig named Wilbur and a spider called Charlotte who had built the most sincere friendship with each other. However, one day, a piece of bad news broke the peace in the barn. After being saved by Fern, who was the daughter of the master Mr. Arable, the little pig confronted with danger again. He would be killed and be made into bacon. When poor Wilbur was desperate and helpless, Charlotte decided to try her best to save him. She used her silk to weave words in her web such as Some Pig and Terrific which were regarded as a miracle by human beings.These marvelous words altered Wilburs destiny and brought him a bright and happy future. Nevertheless, just at the moment, Charlottes life was coming to the end What a really moving story, right? I still have the most thought-provoking dialogue in my mind. Wilbur asked: why did you do all this for me? I dont deserve it. Ive never done anything for you. Charlotte replied: You have been my friend. That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my webs for you because I like you. After all, whats a life, anyway? Were born. We live a little while. We die. A spiders life cant help being something of a mess, with all this trapping and eating flies. By helping you, perhaps I was trying to lift up my life a trifle. Heaven knows anyones life can stand a little of that. When I read it, I narrowly couldnt control my tears. From my perspective, the most commendable and memorable point conveyed from that is the deep friendship between Wilbur and Charlotte. Loneliness drove them together and soon Wilbur found her extraordinarily warmhearted. Gradually, they became the best friend to each other. So when Wilbur was in danger, Charlotte devoted all her lifetime to saving him without hesitation.This kind of devotion for the sake of protecting ones friend is admirable and it makes us human beings reflect on ourselves. In our social life, we are not certain whether we are willing to help friends who are in need, let alone devote our lives. With the development of science and economy, what we go after has changed, from spirit to substance. Its a tragedy to us.On the other hand, sometimes we may feel that our strength is too limited to play a role so there is no need for us to try it. But from this story, we can see that even as a little spider, saving others can be possible. Good things come in small packages. So do anything within our ability to help others as much as possible.Finally, an old saying occurs to my mind : a friend in need is a friend indeed. I think
