增广贤文是一部关于人生哲学的著作，是中国古代儿童启蒙 读物，它也汇集了赋予诗词化格式的历代警句和谚语。内容主要包含 人际关系、财富、处理事物及对读书的看法等方面。该书不仅反映了 中国古代人民的生活，也体现了儒教、道教和佛教的一些思想观念。 接受美学，作为文学理论中的一种新型范式和新兴方法论，将文 学批评理论的关注焦点由作者、文本转向文本一读者关系，从而，清 除了之前盛行的以作者、以文本为中心的文学理论，突出了读者的作 用。本文将以姚斯和伊瑟尔的接受理论观点为框架，从克拉克洪夫妇 和斯多特贝克的价值取向分类即人性取向、人与自然关系取向、时间 取向、活动取向和人际关系取向五大方面挑选和归纳例子，对增广 贤文的翻译进行具体分析和探讨。 基于中英文的差异，文中探讨在增广贤文的中译英过程中， 采用的策略包括借用英语中的祈使句、屈折变化、连词、时态及限定 词加形容词的搭配，包括添加英语单词使句子更符合逻辑，在众多英 语释义中挑选中文词或者词组的特定意思，此外中英转化包括主动变 被动、动态变静态( 即名词化) 以及意合变形合( 有英语的非限制性 定语从句、主语从句和表语从句) 。所有这些策略都是为了读者的更 好理解和接受。 本文从接受美学的角度按照克拉克洪等人的价值取向分类探讨 增广贤文的翻译，旨在说明翻译活动中读者起着非常重要的作用， 。
