Unit 5 Travelling abroadPart III Grammar一、【学习目标】复习掌握定语从句的九大考点。二、【基础知识】定语从句九大考点 : 1、用什么引导 (1)关系代词: who , whom, which , that , whose , as (2) 关系副词: when ,where , why 2、限定性和非限定性定语从句的直观概念 :主句和从句之间带逗号的叫_ 。主句和从句之间不带逗号的叫_。3、非限定性定语从句的特点: (1) 没有定语从句,不影响主句的意思完整。如: I like unit 3 , which is about environment. 这种句子可去掉“,”成为限定性定语从句。因为说话人认为从句不重要那就打逗号,说话人认为重要就不打逗号。(2) which 代指前面的整个句子,无论重不重要 ,从句都得带逗号。如:He didnt pass the exam, which made his father angry . (3) as 引导的定语从句也由不得人,必带逗号。如:Animals are endangered , as is reported in newspapers . = As is reported in the news paper , animals are endangered . such. as. (as 引导的是定从,从句内部不完整, such .that that 引导的是状从 ) I like such kind of book as you bought. _He was such a good teacher that we all like him. _ He is so good a man as I mentioned just now . _He is so good a man that all of us like him . _ (4) It is the same+ n as 引导的定从是 “相似”的意思。 It is the same +n that 引导的定从 是“同一个东西”的意思。 注意:as 引导的从句如果从句内部是完整的,通常翻译成:因为或 当.时候, 那就是状从。 4、Whose 在定语从句中既可以指人,也可以指物:指人:My sisters, whose photos I showed to you yesterday, will come to see us this evening. 指物:I bought a house , whose windows faced the south. 翻译:The majority of the Spanish were religious men , whose ministry was to teach the Catholicreligion to the native Americans .5、关于什么时候只能用 which , 什么时候只能用 that , who, whom : 只能用that 的情况先行词前面有 :(1) 形容词的最高级 (2) 序数词 the first 、the last等 (3) 先行词为不定代词:all, much , some , little ,few , no,anything , everything , something ,nothing 等或被不定代词修饰。(4) the only , the very , the same (5) 先行词既有人,也有物时,只能用that . 注意:表示职业的词, 而非具体的人时,用which如:He was a professor , which I wanted to be . 只用who ,whom : (1)非限定从,人只能用 who , 前有介词用whom 只能用which : (1)非限定性: 修饰物只能用 which 6、先行词为时间名词,什么时候用 when , 什么时候用which 及先行词为地点名词时,什么时候用where , 什么时候用 which。 I still remember the days when we studied ( English )together. ( 从句内部完整) I still remember the days which we spent by the sea. ( 从句内部不完整) I went to the city where she studied ( English ) 3 years ago. ( 从句内部完整) I went to the city which she visited 3 years ago. ( 从句内部不完整) 从句内部完整概念: 及物动词的主谓宾不缺;不及物的主谓不缺; 系表结构系表不缺。 从句内部不完整概念: 及物动词 要么缺主语,要么缺宾语; 系表结构缺表语 。 说明: where 前面是动词,从句不是定从,而是状语从句, 此时where in which . 句中有先行词为地点名词时,where in which He was born _ we are working now . 是_ 从句 He was born in the city _ we are working now . 是 _ 从句 7、关于way 的定语从句: 比较下面两个句子: (1) The way to learn English that/which / _ he introduced at the meeting was quite practical . (2) I appreciate the way that / in which / _ he learns English . 8、关于 the reason 的定语从句: The reason why he was angry was that his students hadnt handed in their homework . The reason which/that/_ he gave us was that his students hadnt handed in their homework . 9、遇到一般疑问句 ,定语从句的做法: 一定要先在草稿上把句子还原成陈述句,再做。 三、【当堂检测】 (个别不是定从,注意区分)1. He was in America in 2003, his father was infected with SARS. ( during) 他2013年在美国,在此期间他的父亲感染了SARS。2. It is in the city that we spend our first part of the journey today. ( attend ) 现在我们是在我兄弟曾上大学的那个城市度过我们前半程。3. We will be shown around the Paris, destination. (dream) 我们将被带着参观一直是我梦中的目的地的巴黎。4. This was a new tower, the lake. ( see ) 这是一个新塔,从它的顶上我们可以看到这个湖泊。5. They stood behind the house, we had a view over the park . (from ) 他们站在房子后面,从它的窗户我们可以看到公园。6. They inspected three factories, near the river . ( locate ) 他们视察了三家工厂,其中最现代化的一家位于河旁边。7. I will never forget the year . ( learn ) 我永远也忘不了我们一起学英语的那一年。8. I will never forget the year . ( spend ) 我永远也忘不了我们一起度过的那一年。9. This is the factory . ( visit ) 这就是我们去年参观的那家工厂。10. He worked in this factory yesterday . ( buy) 他在我们昨天买车的那家工厂工作。11. I work in this factory now. (work) 我现在在他曾经工作的工厂工作。12. English grammar is hard to learn, in the article . ( write ) 正如文章写到的,英语语法很难学。13. _, water is pollut
