Moenjodaro’ssignificancecan’tbeunderestimatedwhenitwasaddedtoUNESCO’sregisterin1980,the

organizationwrotethatMoenjodaro“bearsexceptionalprooftotheInduscivilization,”comprising“themost

ancientplannedcityontheIndiansubcontinent”.

Theletterexplainssomeoftheimmediateactionsthesiteteamhastakentomitigatetheflooddamage,like

bringinginwaterpumpsandrepairingbrickwork.Butit’sclearthatthesemeasureswillnotbeenough.

AbbasiandSangahendedtheirletterbyaskingfor100millionPakistanirupees($45million)tocoverthe
