ThelocationofthisexperimentwastheGreatBarrierReefintheCoralSea,

foundalongsidetheeastcoastofQueensland,Australia,whichisfamousforhaving

thelargestcoralreefsystemintheworldthat’s2,300kilometreslongandcoversan

areaofnearly344,400squarekilometres.Byusingloudspeakerstoreproducesuch

sounds,areasofdeadcoralreefswerefoundtoattracttwiceasmanyfish,comparedto

placeswherenosoundswereplayed.Thesereturningfishcouldhelpintherecoveryof

thisecosystembygivingthoseareasofcoralachanceofnewlife.
