I.TeachingObjectives

1.LanguageSkills:Studentswillbeabletousethevocabularyandsentencestructureslearnedtodescribethecharacteristicsandhabitsofanimals.Theywillalsobeabletoexpresstheirpreferencesforanimalsandjustifytheirchoicesforanimalstoinhabitazooingroupactivities.

2.ThinkingSkills:Throughgroupcooperationanddiscussion,studentswilldevelopcooperativelearningabilitiesandproblemsolvingskills.Theywillenhancethinkingskillssuchasinnovativethinkingandcriticalthinking,makingreasonablechoicesandplansintheprocessofdesigningazoo.

3.CulturalAwareness:Studentswillunderstandthesymbolicmeaningsandimportanceofdifferentanimalsinculture.Theywillalsodevelopanawarenessofanimalprotectionandrecognizethecrucialroleanimalsplayinecosystems.

IV.TeachingProcedures

Step1:Leadin(5minutes)

1.Theteacherplaysavideoaboutazooandasksstudents,"Whatanimalscanyouseeinthevideo?"Afterstudentsanswer,theteachercontinueswithquestionssuchas,"Doyoulikegoingtothezoo?Whyorwhynot?"Studentsareguidedtofreelyspeakandsharetheiropinionsaboutzoos.

Step2:VocabularyandSentenceStructureReview(10minutes)

1.Theteacherpresentssomepicturesofdifferentanimalsandreviewsthevocabularyandsentencestructuresusedtodescribeanimalcharacteristicsandhabits.

Step3:GroupActivityGuesstheAnimal(15minutes)

1.Theteacherdividesstudentsintogroupsof45.

2.Eachgroupmembertakesturnsthinkingofananimal,describingitscharacteristicsandhabitsinEnglish,whileothermembersguess.Afteracorrectguess,theanimal'snameiswrittenonachart.

3.Theteachermonitorseachgroup,providingnecessaryassistanceandguidance.

4.Afterthegroupactivity,representativesfromseveralgroupsareinvitedtosharetheirgroup'sguessingresultswiththeclass.

Step4:DiscussionChoosingAnimalsfortheZoo(15minutes)

1.Theteachershowssomepicturesofdifferenttypesofanimalsandguidesstudentstoconsiderwhichanimalsaresuitablefortheirdesignedzoo.

2.Students,ingroups,selectsomeanimalsfromtheprovidedoptionstoinhabittheirzooanddiscussthereasonsfortheirchoices.

3.Eachgroupsendsarepresentativetoreporttotheclassabouttheanimalstheychoseandtheirreasons,forexample,"Wechooselionsforourzoobecausetheyareverystrongandmajestic.Peoplecanlearnaboutthepowerofnaturefromthem."

Step5:GroupWorkDesigningaZooMap(20minutes)

1.Theteachergiveseachgroupablanksheetofpaperandasksthemtocooperatetodesigntheirownzoomap.

2.Theteacherremindsstudentstomarkoutdifferentanimalareasonthemapandcanaddsomefacilitiesandlandscapes,suchasrestaurants,restareas,amusementfacilities,etc.

3.Theteachermonitorseachgroup,encouragingstudentstousetheirimaginationtodesignauniquezoo.

Step6:PresentationandEvaluation(15minutes)

1.Eachgrouppresentstheirdesignedzoototheclassbasedontheirzoomap,usingthegivenexpressionsin3c.

2.Membersofothergroupslistenattentivelyandcanaskquestionsandmakesuggestions.

3.Theteacherevaluatesandsummarizeseachgroup'spresentation,affirmingstudents'creativityandeffortswhilealsoprovidingsuggestionsforimprovement.

Step7:RecapandHomeworkAssignment(5minutes)

1.Theteacherandstudentstogetherreviewthekeycontentofthisclass,includingvocabularyandsentencestructuresfordescribinganimals,reasonsforchoosinganimalstoinhabitthezoo,andexpressionsforpresentingthezoo.

2.Homeworkassignment:Studentsareaskedtoimprovethezoomapdesignedbytheirgroupathomeandwriteashortessayintroducingtheirzoo,includingthetypesofanimals,theircharacteristics,reasonsfortheirselection,andzoofacilities.

V.TeachingMethods
