讲述故事(tell/narrate/relateastory)2.

(shareanexperience)3. 阐明道理(communicateanidea/conveyamessage)四、解题策略1.

5W(what,who,when,where,why)要素。

Herknittingneedlesclickedthroughherexpertfingers,hernailspaintedred.“Itbringsmejoytosharethem,”shesaid.Sinceshetookupknittinginthe1990s,Matsoukahaseasilymadeover3,000scarves,herdaughtersestimate.Inthebeginning,thescarvesweregiftedtofriends.Asthenumberofscarvesgrew,theyweredonatedtochildren’ssheltersacrossGreece.Then,throughacquaintances,theyreachedchildreninBosniaandUkraine.Thenewlyknittedscarves,numberingover70,wenttoarefugee(难民)campnearAthensthiswinter,viatheUNrefugeeagencyUNHCR.“Thefactthatwegivethemawaygivesherstrength,”saidherdaughterAngeliki.Sherelatedsimpleartworkandmailhermotherreceivedovertheyears:Thankyou,bewell,keepgoing.Yougavejoytochildren,yougavejoytopeople.“That’sheronlyreward:aletter,afewwords.”Angelikisayshermotherisanexampleofstrengthandoptimism.NowMatsoukaknitsonescarfaday.Wakingupeverymorning,shedrinksaglassofmilk,putsonherpearlearringsandgetstowork.Shetakesabreakforlunchandashortsleep,andthenpainstakinglyknitsintothenight.Hereyesightsuffersandshesometimeshasseverefacialpain,aconditionknownastrigeminalneuralgia.However,shehasnoplanstoquitjustyet.“UntilIdie,Iwillbeknitting,”Matsoukasaid.Shemayhaveevenfoundthesecrettoalonglifeinit,shesays.“It’sthehappinessIgetfromgiving,”shesaid,sittingbesideabigbluebagfilledwiththeknittingmaterials.1.WhowereMatsouka’slatestcreationsdonatedto?A.Herfriendsandrelatives.B.ThechildreninarefugeecampnearAthens.C.ThekidsinBosniaandUkraine.D.ThepeopleinsheltersacrossGreece.2.WhatisAngeliki’sattitudetowardswhathermotherisdoing?A.Tolerant. 和最后一段中“However,today,asIlookedaroundatthousandsofpeoplecheeringandgettingincreasinglyexcited,Iwasdeterminedtoatleastgiveitatry—formybrother’ssake,ifnotformyown.Thegamewasintense,andIwashookedsoon.Whentheotherteamscored,Ieventuallyfeltabitdisappointedwiththerestofmycrowd.Mybrotherwassurprisedtoseemegettinginvolved. Forfun,theyunintentionallyplacedaninsectunderthelens(镜片).“Itisamazinglybeautiful!”theybothscreamed.Thefatherhadbeenmakingacareertakingphotographsforadvertisements.Butthatexperiencegavehimanewdirection.Aroundtheworld,insectpopulationsareindeclinebecauseofhabitatlossandclimatechange.Bissthoughtthatifpeoplecouldseewhathesawthroughhisson’smicroscope,theywouldcaremoreaboutprotectinginsects.SoBissturnedtomacrophotography:takingclose-uppicturesofsmallthings,likeflowersorbugs.Hisworkhasattractedattentionnotjustforitsunusualbeauty.Italsoraisesawarenessabouttheneedforconservation.In2016,Bissshowedhisfirstinsectproject,Microsculpture.Thetermreferstothefeaturesofaninsect’sexoskeleton,oroutershell,whichdevelopsovertimeasthebugadaptstoitsenvironment.Biss’spicturescapturetheinsectsinalltheirmicroscopicdetails.Thenheblowsuptheimagesuntiltheinsectsbecomelargerthanlife,someofthemeightfeettall.Buteachimagetakesweekstomake.Heusesadigitalcamerawithamicroscopelens.Thecameraisfixedonacomputerizedtrack,whichallowsBisstotakeashot,thenmovethecamerabysevenmicrons(微米)—adistanceequalstoabout1/10thethicknessofahumanhair—forthenextshot.Intheend,Bissmighttake10,000shotsofabug.Acomputercombinesthesesmallpicturesintoasingleimage.Biss’slatestexhibitionisExtinctandEndangeredattheAmericanMuseumofNaturalHistory.Heselectedbugsthatwereextinctorendangered,hopinghisphotographswouldserveasabetterpurpose.“Icommunicatevisually,”hesays,“ThewayIworkisthroughpictures.ButIthinkit’smydutytoshakethingsupandgetpeopletopayattention.”1.WhatmadeLevonBissturntomacrophotography?A.Anexpensivemicroscope.
