for
2023,
more
diverse

particularly
well-represented
among
the

relatively
high
affordability
and

is
also
an

factor
here
is

travellers

the

greater
international
travel
demand,
sawnumbers
returning
to
pre-COVID-19
levels
and
persistingthroughthesecondhalfoftheyear.Asian
outbound
markets
are
now
in
a
similar
position
tothat
of
Europe
and
North
America
in
2022
—
having
recentlyreopened
with
the
full
removal
of
travel
restrictions,
butstill
in
the
process
of
re-establishing
connectivity
on
someroutes.
Unlike
in
2022
however,
with
the
whole
worldopen
for
business,
the
potential
for
accelerated
recoveryis
greater.
This
is
particularly
true
of
China,
where
therestoration
of
connectivity
has
been
key
to
the
reactivationofoutboundtravel.Elsewhere
in
APAC,
compared
to
pre-COVID-19
figuresfor
outbound
travel,
Australian
(-27%)
and
Indian(-29%)
markets
exhibited
the
strongest
recovery,
withSouth
Korea
(-33%)
following
closely
behind.
SouthKorean
travellers
remain
strongly
focused
on
regionaldestinations,
particularly
Japan,
which
saw
an
increasein
tourist
arrivals
from
South
Korea
of
22%
over
2019
