ThislessonisafilmreviewofBeautyandtheBeast,whichisa1946filmadaptationofthefairytalebyJeanCocteau.BeautyisoneofthreedaughtersofaFrenchmerchant,whoistreatedlikeaservantbyhersistersFelicieandAdelaide.Oneday,herfathergetslostintheforestandentersastrangecastlelookingforhelp.Theownerofthecastle,abeast,tellsthemerchantthatunlessoneofhisdaughtersstaysinthecastletoreplacehim,themerchantwilldie;Beautyofferstotakeherfather’splaceandistrappedinthecastle;Intheend,shefindsthatthebeastisnotasterribleandcruelasheseemstobe.Infact,heisahandsomeprince.Studentsarerequiredtopleteafterschool
