includingtheStateAdministrationofLightIndustryandtheStateEnvironmentalProtectionAdministrationdefines‘lowmercury’as‘mercurycontentbyweightinbatteryaslessthan0.025%’,and‘mercuryfree’as‘mercurycontentby
weightinbatteryaslessthan0.0001%’.Andtherefore:Springpowerlithiumpolymerbatteriesbelongtothe
categoryofmercury-freebattery(mercurycontentlowerthan0.0001%).
DISPOSALCONSIDERATIONS
USA:Lithiumpolymerbatteriesareclassifiedbythefederalgovernmentasnon-hazardouswasteandare
safefordisposalinthenormalmunicipalwastestream.Thesebatteries,however,docontainrecyclablematerialsandareacceptedforrecyclingbytheRechargeableBatteryRecyclingCorporation's(RPBC)BatteryRecyclingProgram.PleasegototheRPRCwebsiteat
foradditionalinformation.

Lithiumionbatteries,whichcontainelectronicmodules(e.g.PCM)andwhicharesubjectedtotheEMCdirective93/97/EEC,mustbeCEapprovedandmustweartheCEmarking.
AccordingtoDangerousGoodsRegulations(see15.)batterypackshavetobemarkedwiththeWatt-hourrating.

15.Transportinformation
Fortheinternationaltransportoflithiumbatteries,theymustcomplywiththeseregulations:theInternationalMaritimeDangerousGoods(IMDG)CodebyInternationalMaritimeOrganization(IMO),DangerousGoodsRegulations(DGR)byInternationalAirTransportAssociation(IATA)andTechnicalInstructionsfortheSafeTransportofDangerousGoodsbyAir(TI)byInternationalCivilAviationOrganization(ICAO).TheseregulationsarebasedontheUNRecommendationsontheT
TransportofDangerousGoods,ManualofTestsandCriteria.
LithiumbatterieswhichmeettherequirementsofUN38.3(UNManualofTestsandCriteria,PartIII,subsection38.3)couldbetransportedbyairandbyseaasordinarygoods,otherwiseshouldbetransportedaccordingtoClass9,PackingGroupIIhazardousgoods.
AsthepublishedoftheUNRecommendationsontheT
TransportofDangerousGoods,15thedition(2007),alltheseregulationshaveaddedsomenewcontentstoregulatethetransportoflithiumionbatteries.Andtheyshouldbecompliedsince1January2009.
1.Forlithiummetaloralloycellandlithiumionbatteries,UNIDnumberis3480.Forlithiummetaloralloycellandlithiumionbatteriescontainedinequipmentorlithiumionbatteriespackedwithequipment,UNIDnumberis3481.
2.Theconsignmentshouldbefullydescribedbypropershippingnameandpacked,markedandinproperconditionforcarriagebyair.TheconsignmentisnotclassifiedasdangerousunderthecurrenteditionoftheIATA51stEffective,Dangerousgoodsregulationandallapplicablecarrierandgovernmentregulations.
3.Fortransportedbyair,Lithium-ionCells/Batteriesshippedas“NotRestricted”Cargo:MustcomplywithSectionⅡofP1965-P1967accordingly;Forcells,theWatt-hourratingshouldnotbemorethan20Wh;Forbatteries,theWatt-hourratingshouldnotbemorethan100Wh.Watt-hourratingmustbemarkedontheoutsideofthebattrycase(markedbymanufacturer).(Exceptthosemanufacturedbefore1Janary2009,whichmaybetransportedwithoutthismarkinguntil31december2010).
4.Eachconsignmentmustbeaccompaniedwithadocumentsuchasanairwaybillwithanindication.ForthoseLithiumioncells/batteriescontainedinequipment,theequipmentmustbeequippedwithaneffectivemeansofpreventingaccidentalactivation.ThetelephonenumberforadditionalinformationforXXXXXXXcellsis+86-755-888888888.
