TheRCEPisexpectedtodeliversignificanteconomicbenefitstoallmembercountries.Accordingtostudies,theagreementhasthepotentialtoadd$186billiontoglobalincomeandliftmillionsofpeopleoutofpoverty.Byreducingtradebarriersandincreasingmarketaccess,theRCEPwillunleashtheregion'seconomicpotentialandincreasebusinesscompetitiveness.Itwillalsocreateamorepredictableandstabletradeenvironment,whichiscrucialforattractingforeigndirectinvestment(FDI)andstimulatingeconomicgrowth.

Furthermore,theRCEPislikelytohavebroaderregionalandglobalimplications.WiththeinclusionofmajoreconomiessuchasChina,Japan,andSouthKorea,theagreementwillcreateamassivemarketthatcoversnearlyone-thirdoftheworld'spopulationandaccountsforabout29%ofglobalGDP.ThiswillstrengthentheAsia-Pacific'spositionasaglobaleconomicpowerhouseandpotentiallyreshapeglobaltradepatterns.Bydeepeningeconomicintegrationandpromotingarules-basedtradesystem,theRCEPalsosendsasignalagainstprotectionismandtradewars,thuscontributingtoglobaleconomicstabilityandmultilateralism.

Despiteitspotentialbenefits,theRCEPalsoposeschallengesandconcerns.Somefearthattheagreementmayleadtofurtherdeindustrializationincertaincountriesandexacerbateincomeinequality.Thereareconcernsaboutpotentialenvironmentalandlaborstandardsviolations,aswellastheimpactonsmallandmedium-sizedenterprises(SMEs),whichmaystruggletocompetewithlargermultinationalcorporations.Toaddresstheseconcerns,theRCEPincludesprovisionsforcooperationonsustainabledevelopment,socialresponsibility,andcapacitybuilding.
