Part ⅢReadingSkills1. 再看一例:Battery-operatedcalculatorsmayberunbyordinarybatteries,orbyspecial“long-life”batteries,orbyrechargeablebatteries. Part ⅢReadingSkills2. Forexample,psychologistsareinterestedinwhysomethingsmakeyousad,butothersmakeyouhappy.Theywanttoknowwhysomepeopleareshy,butothersarequitetalkative.Theyalsowanttoknowwhypeopledothethingsthattheydo. Part ⅢReadingSkills3. Theycanpickupnewvocabulary,masterrulesorgrammar,andlearntowriteinthenewlanguagemorequicklythanothers. Mammoths,whicharerelated(有关联的)withAsiaelephants,arenowextinct.Therearenomammothsintheworldtoday. Part ⅢReadingSkills4. 英语中构成转折结构的词主要包括but,ratherthan,while,although,onthecontrary,incontrast,ontheotherhand等。 Part ⅢReadingSkills通过某些词构成的因果关系也可以猜测词义,这类词包括because,as,since,for,so,thus,asaresult,ofcourse,therefore等。 Part ⅢReadingSkills5. 此句中的Venus(金星)、Mars(火星)、Jupiter(木星)均为生词,但只要知道planets就会大致明白这几个词所指的内容。 能构成反义表达结构的词语主要有but,while,however和not。
