Therearetwotypesofassetretirement:
Onetypeisentireretirement.Inthistype,thevalueofasset’sAPCandaccumulateddepreciationisdecreasedandassetisretired.
Theothertypeispartialretirement. Inpartialretirement,valueofassetispartiallydecreasedandassetisstillavailable.
Asmarketingequipments,bottlesandcasesarekeptinbatchinSAP,ifsomeofthemarelostorscrapped,partialretirementapplies.
Businessassettobesoldistreatedasassetretirementwithrevenue.Businessassetlostorscrappedistreatedasassetretirementwithscrap.

ProcessSteps:
TheapplicantfillsinaFixedAssetDisposal(FAD)formorCARforretirementapprovalandthensendsittodepartmentmanagerforapproval.
Ifthedepartmentmanagerapprovestherequest,forwardtheapprovedformtoFinancedepartmentforfurtherprocessing.Otherwisereturnittotheapplicant.
Theassetaccountantconfirmsthenetbookvalue(NBV)oftheassetandthenseeksapprovalfromfollowing saccordingtoDOA:
Accountingmanager
CFO
GM
IftheNBVexceedstheMUDOAlevel,theFixedAssetDisposalformmustbeapprovedbyBUCFOandBUGM.
Iftheretirementrequestis:
approved,assetaccountantcarriesoutRetirementfunctioninSAPtodecreasethevalueofasset.
rejected,returntotheapplicantwithreasonforrejection.
Theassetisbeingretiredinfinancialrecord.
SubsequentcostandrevenueforassetdisposalispostedinG/Lposting.ThesetransactionsarealsoenteredintoAAsectionasassettransactionsrecord.
