Procedure
Introduction(10minutes)
Beginbygreetingthestudentsandaskingabouttheirpreviousunderstandingofcolorsandshapes.
Introducethetopicbyinformingstudentsthattheywillbelearningaboutcolorsandshapesthroughdrawinginthepark.
Askstudentsiftheyeverdrawintheparkandencouragethemtosharetheirexperiences.
Warm-up(10minutes)
Handoutaprintedcoloredshapetoeachstudentandaskthemtoidentifytheshapeandcolor.
Solicitsuggestionsfromstudentsastowhatcanbedrawnusingtheshapes.
Askstudentstodrawapicturewiththegivenshapeandcolor,usingtheirimagination.
Activity1-RecallingColorsandShapesKnowledge(20minutes)
Giveoutdrawingpaperandcoloringmaterialstoeachstudent.
Onthewhiteboard,writeafewsentencesusingcolorsandshapesandaskthestudentstoidentifythem.
Studentsthenneedtodrawapictureusingthesentenceasaprompt.
Showsomesamplepicturesdrawnbythestudentsafterward.
Activity2-ImplementationofColorsandShapesKnowledge(20minutes)
Takestudentstothepark,playground,orcourtyardwiththeirdrawingmaterials.
Askstudentstofindnaturalobjectsintheparkthathavecertainshapesorcolors.
Studentsaretodrawtheobjectstheyfind,playingwiththecolorsandshapesused.
Teacherandstudentscanengageinameaningfuldiscussionaboutthefeaturesoftheirartwork.
Conclusion(10minutes)
Returnbacktotheclassroom.
Showsomeartpiecesstudentshavecreatedduringactivity2.
