“Yin”

Xia

Dynasty

(before2000

B.C.),

boundary

Mao（鄮）

andGouzhang(句章）

under

the

jurisdiction

of

Kuaiji(会稽)Prefecture（管辖区）

the

Qin

Dynasty

called

Mingzhou（明州）

Tang

Dynasty

(618-907A.D.).

In

the

year

of

821,

the

prefecture

seat

of

Mingzhouwas

moved

to

the

“three-river-junction”（三江口）and

set

upthe

inner

city,

which

marked

foundation

of

the

city.

In

theyear

of

1381,

the

city

got

the

present

name--Ningbo,

Temple

is

a

thousand-year-old

renownedtemple

and

one

of

the

first

cultural

relic

sitesdesignated

to

be

specially

preserved

in

Baoguo

Temple

has

a

long

history.

As

historicalrecords

go,

it

was

originally

built

in

the

East

HanDynasty

(25-220),

but

destroyed

later.

It

was

not

untilthe

year

880

that

the

temple

was

reconstructed.

Thepresent

palce

was

rebuilt

in

The

most

magnificent

building

in

the

temple

is

theGrand

Hall,

known

as

the

"Beamless

Hall".
