First,allowmetointroducemyself.MynameisLiuYang.I’mafirstgradepostgraduateofGuangdongUniversityofTechnology(GDUT).MymajorisMechanicalEngineeringandAutomation.Igetmybachelor'sdegreeinMechanicalEngineeringandAutomationatWuhanUniversityofTechnologyin7thJuly,2007.AfterIgraduatedfrommyuniversity,IworkedinJianglingautomobilejoint-stockcompanyforabout1year.ThenItookthePostgraduateentranceexaminationandwasenrolledinGDUTatlast.

TherearesomeheartyreasonswhyIlikeSUPSIandthemajorofMPM:

First,IaminterestedinMPM,forIhavebeenstudyinginMechanicalEngineer-ingandAutomationsinceIstartedmyuniversitylife.It’swellknownthatthismajorplaysafoundationalroleofthedevelopingofindustryanditiseasyforustofindajob.MPM,inmyopinion,isasimilarmajorwithMechanicalEngine-eringandAutomation.Exactlyspeaking,it’sthe

specialization

andconcretionofMechanicalEngineeringandAutomation.MPMinSUPSIbasedonasetofprominentandwellbalancedlecturesthatnotonlypromoteindividualprofess-nalskillsandcultivatetheirabilitybutalsotheircreativity,managementlevelandshapeattitude.IthinkIcangetmoreprofessionalknowledgesthanIcangetinlandandextendmyknowledgefieldstoenhancemycompetitivestrength.

Second,SUPSIcanoffermegoodteachingquality.SUPSIisoneoftheeightUniversitiesofAppliedSciencesinSwitzerland.Theinstitutionfocusesoneducationbasedonprofessionalneedandonappliedresearch,and,atthesametime,itprovidesapractice-orientededucationandofferawiderangeofmaster’sprograms.TheeducationalgoalofMPMinSUPSIistoshapenewprofesssionalfigurescharacterizedbyreseachandoperateskillsthroughaneffectivetrainingpathconstantlymergingreseachandeducation.Formypart,Ipreferpractice-orientededuccationtopurereseach-oriented.

Thirdly,SUPSIcanaffordsmeagoodenvironmenttostudy.AccordingtoGlobalCompetitivenessReport2009-2010,Switzerlandrankednumberoneamongatotalof131surveyedcountries.It’sareflectionofaworld-classcapacityforinnovation,combinedwithahighlysophisticatedbusinessculture.Thecountryhasawell-developedinfrastructureforscientificreseach,withclosecollaborationbetweentheleadingresearchcentersandindustry.What’smore,thetop-notchinfrastructure,well-builteducationandhealthcaresystemsaswellascleanandbeautifulenvironmentallprovidesasafe,conve-nient,comfortableandhealthylivingenvironmentformetoliveandstudy.
