ThisisareadingmaterialforstudentsfromGradeEight.Thereare4paragraphsaltogether.ThetextisatravelguideaboutSingapore.ItintroducessomebasicinformationandafamouszooinSingapore.ThepassagetellsushowfascinatingSingaporeis,andaimstoattractmorepeopletotravelthere.

MystudentscomefromGradeEight,whohavelearnedEnglishinjuniorschoolfortwoyears,sotheyhaveacertainamountofvocabularyandsomebasicreadingabilities,butwhenfacedwithsuchalongtext,tryingtocollectcertaininformation,theymayfeelalittleuneasy.Whenitcomestotraveling,theyarecurious,activeandhaveastrongdesiretotakepartinclassroomactivities.However,theymaylackcreativeandcriticalthinkingandagoodcommandoforalEnglish.Moreover,someofthestudentsareunwillingtoexpressthemselvesinpublic,soitismyjobtoencouragethem.
