Analysisofthepassage
Thisisthefirstteachingperiodofthisunit.Atthebeginningoftheclass,theteachercanleadinthetopicoftheunitbyshowingstudentssomepicturesofwomenofachievementandtalkaboutthem.
WarmingupisthepartthatconnectsUnit5(Module1)tothisunit.Therulesconcludedintheearlierunitcanbeappliedheretoidentifygreatwomen.Studentsshouldbeencouragedtodiscusswhatthesewomendidwasusefulforotherpeople,andwhatproblemstheyhadtoovercomeorwhattheyhadtogiveuptoachievetheseambitions.
Pre-readingisalsoadiscussionbutfocusedonJaneoftheinterestingthingsaboutJaneGoodallisherdecisionnottogotouniversitybuttoworkwiththeanimalsinthewild.Thisisaquestionwhichmayintereststudents.Itshouldmakethemthinkabouttheirownfutureplansandhowtoachievethem.TheteachershouldletstudentsdiscussthequestionandpredictwhatkindofinformationwillbeintroducedinthenextpartReading.
