TeckbeganasTheTeck-HughesGoldMinesLimitedin1913,todevelopagolddiscoverybyprospectorsSandyMcIntyreandJamesHughesatKirklandLake.TheTeck-Hughesminewasinproductionfor50yearsuntil1965.TeckpurchasedtheBeaverdellminein1969.Thissilverminewasfirstexploredin1898andwasinproductionuntil1991.ABriefHistoryofTeck&Cominco

TheassociationbetweenTeckandComincobeganin1986,whenTeckandtwoindustrypartnersacquiredashareholdingfromCPLimited.Teckacquired100%ofComincoinJuly2001.TeckComincologoABriefHistoryofTeck&Cominco

BeginningOctober1,2008,TeckComincobeganrebrandingitselfasTeck.ThelegalnameofthecompanywaschangedtoTeckResourcesLtd.on23April2009afterbeingapprovedbyshareholdersthepreviousday.In2009,ChinaInvestmentCorporationboughta17%stakeinTeckforC$1.74bn.TheSullivanMinewasanundergroundconventional–mechanizedminelocatedinKimberley,BritishColumbia,Canada;ithasacomplex,sediment-hostedorebody,madeupprimarilyofzinc,lead,andironsulfides.Lead,zinc,silverandtinweretheeconomicmetalsproduced.SullivanMineSullivanMine,Cominco

World'sLargestUndergroundLeadZincMineSullivanMineThedepositwasdiscoveredin1892andacquiredin1909bytheCPR-ownedConsolidatedMiningandSmeltingCompanyofCanada(laterComincoLtd.andTeckCominco).Themine'seconomicsuccessresultedlargelyfromSullivan's1916developmentofthedifferentialflotationprocessthatallowedseparaterecoveryofleadandzincconcentratesinthemillingprocess.Thistechnology,developedbyTrailoperationsatSullivan,hasbeenusedworldwideforvarioustypesoforebodies.SullivanMineInitslifetime,themineproducedorecontainingover17milliontonsofzincandleadandmorethan285milliontroyounces(8.9×109g)ofsilver,whichweretogetherworthmorethan$20billion.After92yearsofactiveproduction,theSullivanMin
