3、ed with a TV and a video recorder isnt anparagraphattractive idea on a humid, cold, or rainy night. Even if theweather cooperates, there is still a thirty-minute drive to thetheater down a congested highway, followed by the hassle oflooking for a parking space. And then there are the lines. 4、king yourself to the end of a human chain, you worry aboutwhether there will be enough tickets, whether you will get seatstogether, and whether many people will sneak into the line aheadof you.SecondOnce you have made it to the box office and gotten your tickets,supportingparagraphThirdsupportingpar
5、agraphyou are confronted with the problems of the theater itself. If youare in one of the run-down older theaters, you must adjust to themusty smell of seldom-cleaned carpets. Escaped springs lurk inthe faded plush or cracked leather seats, and half the seats you sitin seem loose or tilted so that y
6、ou sit at a strange angle. Andwhether the theater is old or new, it will have floors that seem tobe coated with rubber cement. By the end of a movie, shoesalmost have to be pried off the floor because they have becomesealed to a deadly compound of spilled soda or hardening bubblegum.Some of the patr
7、ons are even more of a problem than the theateritself. Little kids race up and down the aisles, usually in gigglingpacks. Teenagers try to impress their friends by talking back tothe screen, whistling, and making what they consider to behilarious noises. Adults act as if they were at home in their o
8、wnliving rooms and comment loudly on the ages of the stars or whymovies arent as good anymore. And people of all ages crinklecandy wrappers, stick gum on their seats, and drop popcorn tubsor cups of crushed ice and soda on the floor. They also cough andburp, squirm endlessly in their seats, file out
9、 for repeated trips tothe rest rooms or concession stand, and elbow you out of thearmrest on either side of your seat.Concluding After arriving home from the movies one night, I decided that I paragraph was not going to be a moviegoer anymore. I was tired of theproblems involved in getting to the mo

I have spent nine hours a day lifting(Thesis)heavy automobile and truck batteries off the end of an assembly belt.I h
16、ave risked the loss of eyes and fingers working a punch press in atextile factory. I have served as a ward aide in a mental hospital,helping care for brain-damaged men who would break into violentfits at unexpected moments. But none of these jobs was as dreadfulas my job in an apple plant.The work w
17、as physically hard; the paywas poor; and, most of all, the working conditions were dismal.FirstsupportingparagraphFirst of all, the job made enormous demands on my strength and energy. For ten hours a night, I took cartons that rolled down a metal track and stacked them onto wooden skids in a tracto
18、r-trailer. Each carton contained twelve heavy cans or bottles of apple juice. A carton shot down the track about every fifteen seconds. I once figured out that I was lifting an average of twelve tons of apple juice every night. When a truck was almost filled, I or my partner had to drag fourteen bul
19、ky wooden skids into the empty trailer nearby and then set up added sections of the heavy metal track so that we could start routing cartons to the back of the empty van. While one of us did that, the other performed the stacking work of two men.SecondsupportingparagraphI would not have minded the d
20、ifficulty of the work so much if the pay had not been so poor. I was paid the minimum wage of that time, two dollars an hour, plus the minimum of a nickel extra for working the night shift. Because of the low salary, I felt compelled to get as muchThirdsupportingparagraphovertime pay as possible. Ev
21、erything over eight hours a night was time-and-a-half, so I typically worked twelve hours a night. On Friday I would sometimes work straight through until Saturday at noon - eighteen hours. I averaged over sixty hours a week but did not take home much more than one hundred dollars.But even more than
22、 the low pay, what upset me about my apple plant job was the working conditions. Our humorless supervisor cared only about his production record for each night and tried to keep the assembly line moving at a breakneck pace. During work I was limited to two ten-minute breaks and an unpaid half hour f
23、or lunch. Most of my time was spent outside on the truck loading dock in near-zero-degree temperatures. The steel floors of the trucks were like ice; the quickly penetrating cold made my feet feel like stone. I had no shared interests with the man I loaded cartons with, and so I had to work without
24、job companionship.ConcludingparagraphI stayed on the job for five months, hating all the while the difficulty of the work, the poor money, and the conditions under which I worked. By the time I quit, I was determined never to do such degrading work again.The 3 Keys to SuccessPeople around the world
25、have many different goals that they want to accomplish during their lifetime, but all these goals relate to one thing: to have a happy and successful life. Of course, this goal is not easy to achieve, but if you develop the following qualities, you will have an easier time: having a positive attitud
26、e, always being respectful and being active in the society. With these three character traits, you are most likely to accomplish what you want to.Having a positive attitude is probably the most important of the three traits. The essence of having positive attitude is optimism. One of the most import
27、ant things in life is to stay happy. Thismay seem somewhat difficult, but you will soon realise that it is worthwhile. When faced with a difficult situation, optimistic people will never panic, making it easier to think up solutions. Suppose someone is diagnosed with a mortal disease like cancer. No
28、rmally this certain person would panic and he would be depressed for the rest of the time. Optimistic people would always look on the bright side, and might even try to ignore the fact that they are sick. That way, they could just go on with their ordinary life. Determination is another part of havi
29、ng a positiveattitude. It may have a connection to being optimistic, but they are actually entirely different character traits. Being determined would mean that once you set your sights on accomplishing a goal, there is nothing anybody or anything can do to stop you. The last part of having a positi
30、ve attitude is to encourage others. If your friend has an opinion about something you are talkingabout, and you think it doesn t make any sense, don t rejectir th opinion. After all, everyone has a different point of view. Also, ifyour friend wants to accomplish a goal, encourage them and tell them
31、that you believe in them. Given these few reasons, you can see that having a positive attitude is an important quality to have.Respect is another one of the key traits that can help you lead asuccessful life. There is an unlimited amount of ways of being arespectful person. Being respectful can mean
32、 being trustworthy.If you ask to borrow something and you return it on time and ingood condition, the person who lent it to you has no reason notto lend something else to you the next time. If a friend tells you asecret, you can be trustworthy by respecting your friendsprivacy and not telling anyone
33、 else. On the other hand, beingrespectful can mean respecting yourself. Respecting yourself, inte first place, is having confidence and believing in yourself. Ifyou want to accomplish a goal, yet you do not believe in whatyou are doing, then there is a very little point in attempting thatgoal. After
34、 all, what is the point in doing something if you do notwant to do it? One of the things that I have not yet talked about isrespecting your environment (or surroundings). Suppose you atschool, in your classroom.Respec ting the“environment”would mean respecting the items inside the classroom such as
35、the computers, the desks, the chairs or the books. In addition to respecting man-made objects, respecting your environment can also mean respecting Mother Nature. Do not disturb plants in their growth and do not interfere with the affairs of the creatures around you.The last of the three key qualiti
36、es is to be active (in the society). You can achieve this by always volunteering when your society needs support. For example, if you have an interest in the medical field, you may consider doing volunteer work in a hospital to get a good experience of what awaits you. After all, it is easier to lea
37、rn things when you are young; it would be best if you learned something about your future job when you are doing volunteer work. Another thing that being active can mean isactually being active physically. You must stay healthy in order to have a happy and successful life. This means that you must g
38、et enough nutrition, yet still eat a balanced diet. Nevertheless, the most important part of living a healthy life is still exercise! By doing exercises, you can keep fit and live an active life. Though this character trait may seem inferior to the others, the importance of being active should not b
39、e underestimated.Be respectful, have a positive attitude and be active; these three character traits are essential to living a successful and happy life. If you possess all three of these character traits combined with effort, you can accomplish anything that you believe in.Prompt #1: The Best Day I
