1、Unit 6 Its rainingPeriod One(1a-2c)By Jia LijunGood morning, Ladies and Gentlemen. Its my great pleasure to be here sharing my lesson with you. I prepare to say the lesson from six parts.Part One Analysis of Teaching MaterialThis lesson is selected from Unit 6, Grade 7 Go for it.This unit is about t
2、he weather.By studying this unit, the students know how to describe the weather. We know that language is for communication. And the study of this lesson will help the Ss with daily communication.Part Two Analysis of StudentsThe students have just entered junior high school for more than half a year
3、. Their vocabulary and language knowledge are very poor, but they have a great interest in English now.Part Three Teaching objectivesAccording to English syllabus and the new English Curricula Standards, I put forward the teaching objectives as follow.1.Knowledge objectives:The students can master s
4、ome new words about the weather and sentence patterns.2.Ability objectives:The students can use the drills like “Hows the weather in?”and “Whats the weather like in? to communicate with others to develop the students abilities of listening and speaking3.Emotion objectives:By completing the task, the
5、 Ss increase their interest and set up self-confidence in language study.4. Key Points and Difficult Points:The key points of this lesson are the key words about the weather such as rain,rainy,windy,snow,snowy,cloudy,sunny and the key sentence patterns such as“Hows the weather in?Whats the weather l
6、ike in?Its cloudy”The difficult point is to talk about the weather.Well, the proper teaching aids such as multi-media and the proper teaching methods can help the teachers to achieve the teaching objectives better, to stress the key points and break through the difficult points. Part Four Analysis o
7、f Teaching aids multi-media and a tape recorderPart Five Analysis of Teaching and Learning MethodsTeaching methods: The following are the teaching methods I choose.1) Communicative teaching method. It encourages the students to use English to communicate with others, thus improve their spoken Englis
8、h and communication ability.2) Task-based teaching method. It offers the Ss an opportunity to use language to complete specific tasks.Learning methods:1)Encourage the students to communicate in English bravely in a relaxed and agreeable atmosphere. 2) Help the students understand the new knowledge t
9、hrough seeing, hearing, saying, observing, imagining, thinking etc. Part Six Analysis of Teaching ProcessI divide the teaching process into seven steps.Step One: Warm-up and review(5 minutes)At the beginning of the class, the Ss sing a song.The Ss not only review the Present Continuous Tense,but als
10、o feel excited.Then the teacher shows some pictures to the Ss to review the sentences:What is/aredoing?.is/are doing.Step Two:Presentation (7 minutes)In one of the pictures,there is a man dangcing in the rain.After talking about what he is doing,the teacher asks:What is the weather like?and tells th
11、e Ss that it means :Hows the weather?Then guide the Ss to answer:Its raining.In order to urge the Ss to grasp the drills,the teacher gives more pictures about many kinds of weather.This activity introduces the key vocabulary.The Ss not only know the words about the weather,but also know how to talk
12、about the weather.The teacher gives the Ss some weather signs in order that the Ss can consolidate the key words about the weather.Step Three:Listening(5 minutes)The SS look at the screen where the pictures in 1a are shown.The teacher tells the Ss:You will hear four different conversations.Each one
13、is about the weather in a different city.Point to each city in the pictures as it comes up on the tape.Play the recording the first time.SS only listen.Then play the recording a second time.This time the teacher asks the Ss to write the name of the city in the picture of its weather.After listening
14、twice,the teacher checks the answers.This activity provides practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversations.Step Four: Speaking Practice(10 minutes)After listening,its time to provide oral practice using the target language.The teacher shows a map of China to the Ss .Guide the
15、Ss to ask and answer like this:Whats the weather like in?/Hows the weather in?Its.Then the teacher asks the Ss to give a weather report according to it.The teacher gives them some useful expressions to prepare.3 minutes later,ask some Ss to present their weather report to the class.The teacher offer
16、s language or pronunciation assistance as needed.Step Five:Listening(6 minutes)Get the Ss to look at the pictures in 2a,the teacher asks them to tell what each person is doing in each picture.For example:This boy is talking on the phone.This man is playing basketball.The teacher plays the recording
17、twice. At the same time the Ss should number the pictures to show what each person is doing.Then check the answers.Let the Ss go on reading 2b.The teacher asks a St to read the lists to the class.and say:I will play the recording again.This time,please match each name with an activity.Write the lett
18、er of an activity in front of each name.After the Ss listening again, chech the answers.Step Six:Pair work(10 minutes)In order to consolidate the way of talking about the weather and the Present Continuous Tense.The teacher shows some pictures on the screen.Get the SS to make dialogues in pairs like
19、 this:Hows the weather?/Whats the weather like?Its windy.Hes closing the window.Then ask some pairs of students to present their conversations to the class. By this step, it achieves the teaching aim of developing the students abilities of speaking.Step Seven:Sum up(2 minutes)At last,Sum up the key expressions and drills with the students.In my design, I follow the demands of the new En
