4、words-“By the time ”,we are talking about two different things that happened in the past. 3: 过去完成时的构成：过去完成时由“助动词had（had通用于各种人称）+动词的过去分词”构成。其肯定式、否定式和疑问句以及简略回答列表如下：.肯定式主语+had+过去分词否定式主语+had not +过去分词疑问式Had +主语+过去分词？eg. (1) Mary had seen that film before. (肯定句) (2) Mary hadnt seen that film before. （否定句

5、） (3) Had Mary seen that film before? （一般疑问句） Yes, she had .(肯定回答) No,she hadnt .（否定回答） Before Past Noweg.(1).When the teacher came in ,the students had begun reading English. (2).By the time the teacher came in,I had drawn a picture. 4: 过去完成时的用法 1、过去完成时表示在过去某一时间或动作之前已经发生或完成了的动作。它表示动作发生的时间是“过去的过去”，常

6、用以下几种方式：(1). 用介词by,before等构成的时间短语.We had learned 20 English songs by the end of last month.They had repaired the machine before midnight. (2). 用连词when, before, after等引导的时间状语从句.The plane had taken off when I reached the airport.They had cleaned the room before we arrived. 2、过去完成时还可以表示从过去某一时间开始，持续到过去另

7、一时间的动作或状 态。往往与for ,since引导的表示一段时间的短语或从句连用。（1）.I heard from him last Sunday,I had not heard from him since 2003. (2). He had lived here for ten years before I moved here.*使用过去完成时的判断依据 3、由时间状语来判定一般说来，各种时态都有特定的时间状语。与过去完成时连用的时间状语有:by ,by the time+句子, by the end of ,before+过去的时间点等。如：How many English film

8、s had you seen by the end of last month?We had planted three hundred trees before last month. 4、由“过去的过去”来判定. 过去完成时表示“过去的过去”, 动作是先后关系。 这种用法常出现在宾语从句或状语从句中。 1）主句谓语为一般过去时（said, asked, told, thought）,宾语从句常要用过去完成时。如：He asked what had happened to me.She told me that she had seen the film.在 when,before 等引导的

9、时间状语从句中，如果时间状语从句的动作发生在主句之后，从句用一般过去时，主句要用过去完成时。如：When I got to the bus stop , the bus had gone.He had already finished his homework before his mother returned.3）表示从过去某一时间开始，持续到过去某一时间的动作或状态。常与for/since引导的表示一段时间的短语或since 引导的从句连用。这种用法如同现在完成时，谓语动词只能用be,live,study,work 等表示延续性的动词，而不是用表示非延续性的动词（come, begin,
