Karshi () sudden death from overwork 过劳死Background Information Karshi is sudden death from overwork, which can be translated literally from Japanese. The word Karoshi were added into dic

13、tionary in 2002 to explain this kind of phenomenon which appears frequently in Japan. Background Information“过劳死”指由于加班工作导致过度劳累而突然死亡,是一种“职业猝死” 。“过劳死”一词源于日本()。第一宗有纪录的过劳死个案发生于20世纪七八十年代经济繁荣时期的日本,一名在日本最大的报纸公司的海外运输部工作的二十九岁男员工,在工作期间突然中风身亡。接着,20世纪80年代日本泡沫经济破灭,该公司几位较高职位的行政人员正值壮年,也在没有明显疾病的情况下猝死。传媒马上针对事件报道,并很快
