1、Unit 1 Reading Do you think you will have your own robot?Good morning, judges. Im glad to stand here to share my ideas about the lesson with you. My topic is Do you think you will have your own robot? which is from Grade 8,unite 1,section B(2a-2d) . I will analyze the lesson from the five parts. The
2、 analysis of the teaching material, the analysis of students, The analysis of the Teaching methods and learning methods , Teaching procedure and blackboard design.Now, let me introduce my lesson from the first part.Analysis of teaching material1 .Status And FunctionThis lesson is to develop the read
3、ing ability, which is focused on the topic of robots, such a topic is little far away from our daily life, so it is easy to arouse the Ss imagination and learning interest. 2.Teaching aims: According to the teaching material, students condition and new curriculum standards, I map out following teach
4、ing aims: Knowledge aims: a. most Ss can know an understand the new words and expressions in the passage, such as unpleasant, scientist, already, made, the study of medium Ss can master the target language and the usage of future tense.b. Get the students to learn about robotsAbility aims:a. After l
5、earning this passage, most Ss can read the text fluently and describe the basic characters of robots.b. 80% Ss can answer the questions about the content of the reading, For the students in lower level, I hope they can retell the passage using the sentences from the context. the students in high lev
6、el can retell the passage briefly using their own words. Moral aims: Arouse the Ss interest in science and tell them the robot is almighty.3. next the Teaching Key Points a. Get the students to learn the key words, phrases and target language. b. Through the reading activities, Ss learn to use readi
7、ng skills to grasp the information c. Let the Ss learn the future tense.(2) Teaching difficult points:Develop the students abilities for reading and retelling the passage. Now Part Two Analysis of students(1) some students have already grasped some reading skills about English.(2) Maybe they cant re
8、peat a passage using their own words well.Then Part Three Teaching and learning methods: To meet different teaching goals, Ill adopt many kinds of teaching methods and make the students apply some different learning ways, including task-based method, cooperative method, audio-visual method and discu
9、ssion method.Next the most important part Teaching ProceduresI will use a tape recorder and PowerPoint as my teaching aids. Because cooperative method is the basic teaching and learning method, I divided all the Ss into 8 groups. Every group will choose the group leader.Step 1 warm-up (3 minutes)To
10、arouse the students interest and lead in the topic, Ill organize 2 activities:(1) : Play the cartoon and have a free talk with the students like this: Whats its name? Is he lovely? Do you want to have a robot like it?(2) Brainstorming: Show some robot photos Get the students to discuss and predict:
11、what will your robots look like? And what will your robots do in the future? ( work in groups)Step 2 pre-reading (2 minutes)At first, get the students to talk about the title or the picture of the passage, and predict what this passage is about. After class, make an assessment: Who is the best predi
12、ctor in our class? It is useful for the students to develop the ability to predict the main idea.Step 3: Reading (20 minutes)(1) Skimming (3 minutes)Ask the students to read the passage quickly, and try to answer two questions:a. What do you think is the key word of this reading? A. Robots B. Future
13、b. The writer_ there will be more robots in the future. A. agree B. disgreeThen let Ss finish 2b on the text. By doing so, Ss can grasp the main idea of the passage and master the frame work , which can help them to read.(2)Scanning (17 minutes)To help Ss to master the passage, I design 2 tasks,Task
14、1:In order to help Ss to get the detailed information effectively and finish 2c, I choose a new reading method: Jig saw reading. Now let me introduce it carefully.Firstly, I give out 3 reading clues: in the movies, today, in the future. So I divide all the Ss into 3 big groups. Every group can choos
15、e one reading clue they like to find out the answers to the questions: What the robots look like and What they can do. They only have 2 minutes.During this process, Ss meet the new words, they must guess their meaning by the context first, then to check whether they are right or not, after the whole
16、 reading. Ill put the new words and phrases on the Bb and design a step: How many words did you predict ?(use different ways to teach these words. Such as 板书.)Secondly, in every group, Ill put every member in order. Let the Ss with same number sit together to form a new group. (举例说明)This step is pre
17、pared for the next step.Thirdly, in the new group, the new group member need to share, communicate and exchange the detailed information he got. In the process, I walk around to make sure they can communicate in English.The use of information gap can drive them to express themselves.Finally, ask Ss
18、back to group in 8 members and some Ss at random to fill in the chart(板书) and finish 2c.It can help me to check the efficiency of last step.Different people have different opinions on future robots , it is also a difficult reading point for the Ss. So I design task2. I pick out the sentences about o
19、pinions from scientists, writer and James White. Then ask Ss to match them.Step 4: Post-reading (16 minutes)(1) Ask students to finish 2d.Then check the answers and read together.This step can help the students read through the passage and get ready for retelling.(2)Ask some volunteers to retell the story by their own words.(3) Guessing game: Ill show parts of robot photos, let Ss to guess what it is and what it can doIt is expending exercises for consolidation. (4)After guessing game, to fulfill the moral aims, I wi
