10、n understanding on the following issues:First, in the process of economic globalisation, culture and elements of civilisation are increasingly important in international relations and social development. Cutlrual exchanges between countries, regional cultural cooperation in Asia in particular, will

11、extert extremely positive effect on peace and development in Asian countries.Secondly, Asian countries want to, on the basis of equality and mutual benefit, make efforts to promote cultural exchanges and dialogues between different civilisations, to further strengthen understanding and appreciation

12、of each others culture through regional cultural cooperation, to enhance coordination and communication between cultural ministries and departments, and to encourage the holding of and reciprical participation in academic cultural exchanges on a regional basis. Thirdly, while regional cooperation in Asia expands and deepens in general, cultual cooperation needs to combine theory with
