9、SangganandHutuorivers.Shanxihasacontinentalmonsoonclimate,andisratherarid.Annualprecipitationaveragesaround350-700mm.Thereisverylittleprecipitationinwinterandspring.EconomyShanxidependsmostlyonagriculture,mainlythecultivationofwheat,butalsocornandsorghum.Shanxiisveryrichinnaturalresources,includingc

10、oalandbauxite.Shanxihas,infact,onethirdofChina'scoaLandthishasmadeShanxialeadingproducerofcoalwithinChina.Industry"inShanxiismostlycenteredoncoal,powergenerationmetalrefining,andotherheavyindustries.In2003,Shanxihadagrossdomesticproductof245.7billionRMB.andapercapitaincomeof7468RMB.Bymarket
