若首句交代了when, where, who, what,即四个W,那

This autumn was the wettest since records began in the U.K. Floods _ large parts of the country.A. coveredB. covered by C. covered withD. rushed away(二)语法 + 常识More and more factories pump CO2 into th

Heres a fellow who just walked into a bank and helped himselfso much money.A. forB. byC. toD. of表示“自取,随便拿”这个意义的短语是help oneself to故答案为C。3. Soon I heard alike that of a door burst in and then a clim

A。“out of the corner of ones eye”的意思是“斜视”,表现了作者欲看不敢的恐惧心理,符合文段的主题;第42空只能选wind。

在该句中though是副词,象though用作连词一样,表示转折关系,但它用作副词时表示的是它与前面那个句子间的转折关系,即相当于“Though every morning I got on the school bus righ

、t near my home that was no problem, after school, when all the buses were lined up along the street, I was afraid that I'd get on the wrong one and be taken to some unfamiliar neighborhood.” It is strange, yet (it is) true.

、“在任何情况下”,起强调作用,即特别强调“Being popular was so important to me”的唯一性,但“one of the worst fears of all”是把它作为并列因素提出来的,而不是特别强调,因此,与上下文的意思不一致,所以then是最佳选择。

精析精练(一)Once upon a time the colors of the world started to quarrel.
