8、ation is used with the above shown configuration and works as followsthese parallel units are connected to service bypass panel to make it easy to combine the ups power and distribute it to the load all units get the input through input switches from sbp (service bypass panel) and output of all unit

9、s will be combined on sbp through individual output switches. this makes it easy to service and maintain the units and increase the reliability of operation.up to four units can be connected in parallel without any additional external static switch. if the configuration demands more than four unit t

10、o be connected in parallel then this configuration uses external static switch for bypass, which is also connected to sbp through switches. for more than four systems the external static switch is used to avoid the imbalance of current on all parallel ups static switches, because of the different le

11、ngths of input and output cables, during the bypass operation of upsin order to work in parallel and share the load all units are installed with parallel operation board inbuilt in a system. this board insures that all units work in synchronization and share the load current equallytherefore 9 units

12、 of dp3480e in parallel can support 4320kva of total load with each unit carrying the equal current.the configuration of connecting all units in parallel has advantages of high power availability, overload capacity, redundancy in case of load less than full load capacity of 8 units and high reliabil

13、ity as no additional equipment required at the output.sbp is a unit which has only power switches and sense contacts and does not include any electronic components and hence very reliable and makes it easy to maintain and repair the units in futurein order to connect all units in parallel, a paralle

14、l cable is connected between all units and this parallel cable also has redundancy (i.e. uses two parallel cables) in order to increase the reliability of parallel operation. parallel board ensures that all units run in synchronization to keep the same output frequency and phase, it also senses the

15、output current for all units and make it equal on all systems. in parallel operation system also continuously checks how many units are cuitently active and sharing the load and display it on front panel fr. ex. 3/3 (i.e. 3 of 3, all three of parallel systems are on) or 2/3 (i.e. two of three parall

16、el systems are working and one is off). by measuring the total load and checking the number of active system it display on front panel whether the system is operating in parallel or parallel redundant mode.all parallel board signals are electrically isolated from ups control circuit and hence there will not be possibility of causing any failure in other units if one of unit fails. many other manufacturers use parallel board where there is no isolat
