1、Unit 3 Language in use,状语从句(一):时间状语从句 仔细观察下列例句,体会画线单词的句法作用: While were staying with them, were going to spend one day in Qingdao.,Before we begin dinner, my father gives thanks for the food. When it is all over, everyone helps wash the dishes. And my family always go somewhere interesting as soon as

We have celebrated the festival since the first pioneers from England arrived in America.,(1)含义:在复合句中,由时间连接词引导的表示时间的状语从句叫作时间状语从句。连接时间状语从句的连接词有:when, before, after, while, as soon as, until, since等。,(2)常见的时间状语从句: 1)when引导的从句 表示主句的动作和从句的动作同时发生或者先后发生。如: When she came in, I was eati

3、ng. 她进来时,我正在吃东西。 When I lived in the countryside, I used to carry some water for him. 我住在农村时,我常常为他担水。,2)while引导的从句 表示“当时”,强调主句的动作在从句动作进行的过程中发生。由于while从句表示一个持续的行为,所以从句中要用延续性动词,并且延续性动词常用进行时态。如: Dont make any noise while I am recording. 我在录音时(你们)别发出噪音。,while还可用作并列连词,意为“而;然而”,表示对比。如: Some people waste f

4、ood while others havent enough to eat. 有些人浪费食物,然而有些人却吃不饱。 3)before引导的从句 一般表示主句的动作发生在从句动作之前。如: I didnt know any English before I came here. 我来这儿之前,一点英语都不懂。,4)after引导的从句 表示主句的动作发生在从句动作之后。如: After he locked the door, he left. 他锁上门后就走了。 5)since引导的从句 表示“自从以来”,从句中的动词表示动作的起点,常用一般过去时。主句中的动词表示动作延续的情况,一般用现在完成

5、时。其常用结构如下:,A. 主句(现在完成时)+since+从句(一般过去时)。如: He hasnt been home since he graduated. 他毕业后没回过家。 B. It be/has been+一段时间+since+从句。如: It is/has been two years since I became a postgraduate student 我成为研究生已有两年了。,6)until引导的从句 A. 表示“直到”,主句和从句都用肯定式。如: They worked until it was late. 他们一直工作到天黑。 B. 表示“直到才”,主句用否定式,

6、从句用肯定式。如: She didnt go to bed until she finished her homework. 她一直到写完作业才睡觉。,7)as soon as引导的从句 表示“一就”,强调动作紧密相连。如: As soon as she came to the classroom, she began to read English. 她一到教室就开始读英语。,【话题呈现】 本模块围绕“Public holidays”展开话题,要求学生能够写一篇短文介绍一个节日。比如能够运用所学语言介绍一个中国的重要节日。,【佳句荟萃】 The First of October is Chi
