The elephant is one of Thailands symbols. This is a symbol of good luck.Elephants can walk for a long time and never get lost. People cut down many trees so elephants are losing their homes. . We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory. Ability aims:Through reading training, children can gradually improve their English reading ability.Emotional aims: Animals and humans live on the same planet. Animals are our friends , We humans should live in harmony with animals and live together. the earth is human and animals survival and the home ,we should love them and protect them. 教学重难点Teaching important points: 1. Cultivate childrens comprehensive reading ability through reading.2. Show a picture on the big screen and let the students to answer the questions.What animal is it?What is it doing?What do you think of elephants?Do you like elephants?T:Today I am sorry to tell you elephants are in great danger, Do you know why? Lets read the passage and find the answers.Step 3 Reading1. Fast reading Ss read the passage quickly and finish 2b:Whats the best title for this article?2. Careful reading Ss read the passage again and find the answers to these questions (on the big screen): Where are the students from? What do the students want to do? Is the elephant important in Thailand? How do you know that? What can elephants do?. Are elephants in great danger? Why?What can we do to save the elephants? Ss read the questions first. Then read the passage again and find the answers to the questions. Check the answers with the class.Step4. Work on 2C1. Tell the students to look at the map in 2c. There are four box around the word Elephant. The first box is about the importance of the elephants in Thailand. The second box is about the abilities of the elephants. The third box is about the facts and figures of the elephants. The last box is about how to save the elephants. Lets read the passage again and fill in the blanks. 2. Ss read the article and fill in the blanks in the map. 3. Check the answers with the Ss. 4. We must save the trees and not buy things made of ivory.教学反思本课的导入部分我通过多媒体展示了爱护动物的视频,通过精美的图片和逼真的声像,将学生带入充满升级的动物世界中,调动了学生的学习热情,使他们在轻松、愉快的环境中获得知识。通过在教学中设计不同的阅读任务,不断激发学生的学习兴趣,让不同层次的学生不停参与,乐于参与。总的来说,在这节课中我所设计的任务都能落实到位,学生在完成我所设计的任务过程中锻炼了他们的语言运用能力、阅读能力等,最重要的是在活动的过程中还培养了他们小组合作的能力。学生通过大量的阅读输入,提高了学生的阅读能力,同时培养和增强学生热爱动物、保护动物的意识。在教学过程中师生互动性好,任务型的教学方法运用
