Work Report1 The work that I have done in the two weeks: SWAP AMX602 samples prepared by the M6 tool(the diameter of the pin is 6mm) a. Hardness across the cross section of FS-welded joints of samples that prepared at a weld speed of 350mm/min and 400mm/minThe result of the hardness of the samples after FSW showed that the hardness of the stir zone lower that the base metal. In fig.1.(b), it could find that the hardness of the right side of the sample was higher than the left side. It may be caused by the right side plate. I will test the hardness of the base metal of the right side plate.b. The tensile test on the samples with different parameters.300mm/min250mm/minFig.2. The 300mm/min ones had the highest tensile strength. But the tensile strength of the samples was not stable. It could be found that the fracture always occurred in the advance side of the joints of the samples welded by 250mm/min and 300mm/min, while it occurred in the middle of the joints of the 350mm/min and 400mm/min. The 250mm/min and 300mm/min ones had the highest tensile strength. But the tensile strength of the samples was not stable. It could be found that the fracture always occurred in the advance side of the joints of the samples welded by 250mm/min and 300mm/min, while it occurred in the middle or the retreat side of the joints of the 350mm/min and 400mm/min. The tensile strength of the joints prepared by new tool (M5) did not higher than the ones prepared by the tool (M6). But the ones prepared by the new tool were more stable.c.
