unit 9 when was it invented?第一节(period 1)课型:听说课 时间: 45分钟教材内容:section a 1a, 1b, 1c及section b 4a 教学目标:1. language goals: i. words & expressions invent, inventor, invention, be used for doing sth. ii. key sentenceswhen was the car invented? it was invented in 1885. who was the telephone invented by? it was invented by bell. what are they used for? they are used for seeing in the dark. 2. ability goals:enable the students to use the passive voice. 3. emotion & attitude goals:enable the students to get to know different inventions around them.4. strategy goals: enable the students to use what they know to explain new words.教学重点1. key vocabulary: invent , calculator, be used for ( doing sth. )2. talk about the history of inventions. when was the car invented? it was invented in 1885. who was the telephone invented by? it was invented by bell. what are they used for? they are used for seeing in the dark. 3. to get to know passive voice. 教学难点:describe a new invention in english,including the time, the person and the usage.教学方法: task-based teaching method教学手段: a computer, blackboard, the listening materials,pptteaching procedures (教学步骤)teachingstepsteachingaimsteachers activitiesstudents activitiesteaching aidsstep i lead-in create an active atmosphere of teaching the history of inventions for students. our school is a boarding school. you have to stay at school from monday to saturday morning. how do you usually keep in touch with your parents? ( by making telephone calls.) how much do you know about the telephone? 1. play a video. 2. check the answers. watch a video and answer some questions about the telephone. lead in by watching a video and answering the questions. step ii: presentation to get the students to know what they are going to learn.1. talk about the history of the telephone by presenting the key sentences:when was the telephone invented? who was it invented by?2. show ss a picture of a tv and a car. 1. listen and say. 2.talk about the history of the tv set and the car by using the target language. slide 4,5,6,7,8&9step iii:listening practiceto practice and improve the students listening skills.1. encourage the students to talk aobut the picture.2. read the instructions to the class. play the recording. check the answers. students listen and finish 1b.slide 11sep iv: pair work to make sure the students have gotten to know how to talk about the history of some inventions. to show the students some inventions, inventors and some dates. ask them to match the inventions with the inventors and the dates. then do pair work. 1.match the inventions with the inventors and dates as quickly as possible. 2. work in pairs to talk about the history of the inventions shown on the screen. slide 12&13 step vbrainstormto talk about the use of the computer. 1.present the key sentence: what is the computer used for? it is used for surfing the internet.2.ask the students to brainstorm the use of the computer. speak out the use of the computer one by one. step vi groupworkto make sure the students have gotten to know how to talk about the use of the things in our daily life. lead the students to talk about the use of the things quickly and correctly.work in groups to talk about the use of the things as much as they can. slide 15step viiinvention showto cultivate the students creativity.1. show an invention called a baby fridge that was invented by the teacher and talk about it by using the target language. 2. ask the students to design their own inventions. 3. show the class some creative works. work in groups to design their inventions.1. slide 16&17 2. some pieces of paper, colorful pens. step viii homework1.to consolidate the contents the students have learnt. 2.to cultivate the students writing skills. try to finish the writing according to the demands.write a short instruction(说明书) about one or two inventions in your group. introduce them to your friends. slide 22附一:(blackboard design)unit 9 when was it invented? when wasinvented? g1 g2 g3it was invented inwho was it invented by? what is it used for? it is used for doing/ to do. 教学反思:新课程标准倡导任务型教学模式,即让学生在教师的指导下,通过感知、体验、实践、参与和合作等方式,实现目标,感受成功。“兴趣是最好的老师”,教师从学生的生活实际和已有的认知水平出发,设计能激发学生学习爱好并呈一定阶梯状的任务,努力创设轻松、和谐的语言氛围,让学生在感知任务、实践任务中,获取和运用语言知识,体验成功所带来的喜悦。本节课的话题是“inventions”。老师从学生身边的发明电话切入话题,引出重点句型。继而引导学生谈论生活中常见的发明,如电视,小汽车,电脑等。唤醒学生、激起学生的表达欲望,从而不断发展学生的听、说、读、写的能力。在课堂上,老师始终做到示范者、启发者、组织者、激励者和促进者的角色,全方位地发展学生。在这节课里,通过划分小组,进行了小组竞赛激励,学生积极参与的气氛很浓,尤其是在brainstorm the use of the useful inventions in our daily life这个环节,学生的积极性得到充分的调
