摘要 翻译和文化向来是不可分的。翻译是解文化的途径之一。随着外来新事物、 新概念的涌现，借鉴外来语汇来丰富和发展本民族语汇是语言发展的重要途径， 因而外来词的翻译是不可避免的。回顾外来词翻译的历史，就可以从中发现中华 民族的心理文化变迁。 本文就外来词翻译与心理文化之日j 的关系进行了探讨，首先在第一章的引言 和第。：章的文献综述州顾了中国翻译界在外柬词翻译方面的研究。然后在第一三章 分析了外来词出现的原因及外来词的特殊地位，运用以色列著名学者佐哈的多元 理论阐述了外来词的翻译策略和翻译方法。 第阴章是拿文的重点。首先简单介绍了文化和心理文化的定义和特点，并就 中国长期以来在封建统治f 的传统心理文化特点作出分析，对英语外来词翻译的 历史进行了回顾。以传教士的出现、鸦片战争以及改革丌放为界限把百年来的英 语外来词翻译分为三个阶段，并且就每个阶段的政治经济特点、翻译方法策略的
