摘要 洪堡的礼物是美国二战后重要作家索尔呗娄的一部著名长篇小说。小说自1 9 7 5 年问世以来，在国内外文学界引起了广泛的关注，获得了1 9 7 6 年的普利策文学奖。同 年索尔贝娄荣获诺贝尔文学奖，更加羹定了洪堡的辛乙物在贝娄作品中的重要地位。 小说着重描写了美国不同时代的两位作家，诗人洪堡和传记作家兼剧作家西特林的命 运并且通过他们不同的遭遇深刻揭示了物质世界对精神文明的摧残。 要观点，说明索尔- 贝娄的存在主义观点以及其在小说洪堡的礼物中的运用，第一 章，分析作品中世界的荒诞性，由洪堡和西特林的命运来展现金钱至上的社会是多么荒 诞离奇，不可理喻。从西特林对洪堡的背叛到最终西特林破产，失去7 一切，在到意外 得到洪堡遗赠给他的礼物，然后凭借洪堡遗赠的礼物，西特林获得一笔赔偿费。西特林 的命运本身就是荒诞的。这与存在主义的“世界是荒诞的 相一致。第二章，主要分析 作品中的人类的异化，包括无力感，虚无感和失序感，孤立感及自我的疏离。通过洪堡 和西特林的命运以及在社会中人与人的关系和自我的心理状态的分析，表现出索尔- 贝 娄的存在主义思想以及深邃的主题内涵。第三章，主要通过自由的选择和应该承担的责 任。分析了作品中人物对真实存在的追求，反思整个现代文明的危机和所有现代人的困 境以探讨人的存在本质，入生价值意义以及最终出路，从而揭示索尔- 贝娄对整个人
