Oh dear, said the conductor suddenly. I forgot to put you off. It doesnt matter, I said. Ill get off here. We are going back now, said the conductor. Lesson53 Hot snake 触电的蛇At last firemen have put out a big forest fire in California. Since then, they have been trying to find out how the fire began. Forest fire are often caused by broken glass or by cigarette ends which people carelessly throw away. Yesterday the firemen examined the ground carefully, but were not able to find any broken glass. They were also quite sure that a cigarette end did not start the fire. This morning, however, a fireman accidentally discovered the cause. He noticed the remains of a snake which was wound round the electric wires of a 16,000-volt power line. In this way, he was able to solve the mystery. The explanation was simple but very unusual. A bird had snatched up the snake from the ground and then dropped it on to the wires. The snake then wound itself round the wires. It was still early when I returned home. The children were at school, my husband was at work and the house was quiet. So I decided to make some tarts for tea. A new machine called The Revealer has been invented and it has been used to detect gold which has been buried in the ground. The machine was used in a cave near the seashore where-it is said-pirates used to hide gold. The pirates would often bury gold in the cave and then fail to collect it. Armed with the new machine, a search party went he did not like it. She enjoyed herself making the assistant bring almost everything in the window before finally buying the dress she had first asked for.Lesson58 A blessing in disguise? 是因祸得福吗？The tiny village of Frinley is said to possess a cursed tree. Because the tree was mentioned in a newspaper, the number of visitors to Frinley has now increased. 项目背景2.1项目的由来 生态观光农业是一种以农业和农村为载体的新型生态旅游业。近年来，伴随着农业产业化的发展，现代农业不仅具有生产性功能，还具有改善生态环境质量，为人们提供观光、休闲、度假的生活性功能。随着收入、闲暇时间的增多，生活节奏的加快以及竞争的日益激烈，人们渴望多样化的旅游，尤其希望能在典型的农村环境中放松自己。于是，农业与旅游业边缘交叉的新型产业 观光农业应运而生，拓展了农业发展的新空间，开辟了旅游业发展的新领域，实现了一三产业融合发展。现代社会，人们渴望能在优美的环境中放松、休闲。于是，回归田野、自然的观光农业就成为人们最好的选择，吃农家饭、住农家屋、做农家活、看农家景成了新的热点。据专家介绍，观光休闲农业，在日本、美国等发达国家20世纪70年代就已形成产业规模，进入
