Lesson Plan Presentation Good morning, ladies and gentlemen.Its my honor to present my lesson plan here today. The lesson plan I am going to present is from Go for it Grade 8 Unit10 Im going to be a basketball player. Id like to explain how to teach and why to do so from the following 6 aspects: the analysis of teaching material, the theoretical basis, the teaching methods and studying ways, teaching procedure, blackboard design and self-reflection.1. Analysis of teaching materialThe analysis of teaching material comes first. This unit is mainly talking about students future intention. The students will learn the new phrase “be going to” used as future tense ? . So the difficult point is how to let students know how to talk with others with “be going to” . In additional, the second difficult point is that make students know how to use another structure “How are you going to do that ?”.There are two main teaching points that we must pay attention to. First is the key vocabulary and some new phrases. Second is the target language and how students can use the target language proficiently. So in order to fulfill the learning task of this lesson. I make out the following objectives. The first is cognitive target. Students get to know how to use future tense “be going to” to discuss about their future intentions and describe how to do that . The second is ability target. Students get to know how to ask others future intentions and how to realize it.The third is affection target. Ss can show their ideas about future intentions then work out a plan to encourage themselves. The fourth is learning strategy target, especially communicative strategy. Ss can make discussion about the future jobs through group work, and at the same time, Ss can develop the ability of communicating with others.2. The theoretical basisNext, I am going to talk about the theoretical basis. According to the National English Curriculum, the English Curriculum aims for promoting learner-centeredness and respecting individual differences. Therefore, its objectives, the teaching process, the assessment procedures as well as the development of teaching resources should all reflect the principle of learner-centered approach. Classroom teaching should become a process during which Ss are guided by the teachers. Teaching should take full consideration of Ss individual differences in learning processes and their learning style and teachers should be flexible in using teaching methods, resources and ways of assessment so as to make teaching beneficial to all kinds of Ss. So in my class I will give Ss more time to practice in pairs, work in groups after my presentation, it can improve their learning efficiency.3. Teaching methods and studying waysNow, lets focus on the ways of teaching and learning. Generally speaking, I adopt situational language teaching method .So I will introduce the new language item followed by some controlled practice, such as drilling, dialogue practice, etc. Ss then move to produce the language in a more meaningful way, such as do a survey. I will create as many chances as possible to make the Ss participate in the classroom activities. It can improve their learning efficiency.4. Teaching procedure Next, lets come to the most important part, that is, the teaching procedure. It includes seven steps.Step1 Greeting and Revision (1mins)The first step is greeting . It will cost 1 minutes. Step2 Lead in (3 mins)Then is the second step. It will cost 3 minutes. In this part, I will show Ss a picture of Jordan . And let Ss answer my question according to the pictures first. The questions are “Who is he? /Who are the best basketball player in our classroom? / What is the difference between S1 and Jordan?” It is aimed to consolidate the word “professional” and the topic.Step3 New words drill(10 mins)The third step is new words drill. It will cost 10 minutes., I will show them the pictures of different jobs and introduces the new words. The aim is in order to consolidate the new words .Step4 Presentation and practice (15mins)The fourth step is Presentation and practice. It will cost 15minutes. In this part, I will show Ss some pictures which from Section A 1a and let Ss answer my question according to the pictures first. The question is “What are you going to be when you grow up?” It is aimed to consolidate the phrase “going to be” and introduce the new phrases in this lesson. And then I will ask Ss to do the match work in 1a. Next, I will choose some groups to act this dialogue . The purpose is activate Ss interests in learning English through the real situation.Step5 Production: Do a survey (5 mins)The fifth step is to do a survey. It will cost 15 minutes. In this activity I will ask Ss to make a group of six people. Each group ask teammates future intentions . And the organizer should list all the choices. After that, each group should present their dialogues and the organizer should give a report. I will show the Ss a sample report first and they can do the survey according to it. The purpose of this activity is to train Ss cooperative ability and also their abilities of using language.Step6 Listening and Practice (9 mins)The sixth step is listening and Practice. It will cost 9 minutes. First let Ss listen to the1b then finish the exercises 1b.Secondly, listen again and read after the record. The activity gives Ss listening practice in understanding the target language in spoken conversation.Step7 Homework(2 mins)The last step is to assign the homework. There are two. The first is let Ss review the new words. The second is to write down a dialogue between their friends and them. The purpose for this homework is to improve Ss writing ability and consolidate the expressions.5. Blackboard designOk, this is my blackboard design. On the top is the title of this lesson. And I will write some key words and phrases on the left and the structures of the expression
