For example, the spectrum analyzer is set to to 100 kHz RBW with the VBW set to 100 Hz This technique is done in order to smooth out the spectral signature. Answer : No, it is not acceptable to simulate average measurements with a reduced video filter (VBW). Always use, the appropriate detector (average, peak, normal ,sample, quasi-peak) when making measurements for licensed devices.
