11、成的动作。8.but he took the violin from the wall as calmly as if he were a welcome visitor as if 引导状语从句:(1)基本用法以as if (as though)引导的方式状语从句或表语从句,有时用虚拟语气,若表示与现在事实相反,谓语动词用一般过去时;若表示与过去事实相反,用过去完成时;表示将来的可能性不大,用would (might, could)+动词原形:He acts as if he knew me. 他显得认识我似的。They treat me as though I were a strange
12、r. 他们待我如陌生人。He talks as if he had been abroad. 他说起话来好像曾经出过国。 (2)两点说明A从句所表示的内容若为事实或可能为事实,也可用陈述语气:It looks as if well be late. 我们似乎要迟到了。This meat tastes as if it has already gone bad. 这肉吃起来似乎已经坏了。在现代英语中,有时即使从句内容不是事实,也可能用陈述语气:I feel as if as though Im floating on air. 他感到好像漂浮在空中。The stuffed dog barked
13、as if it is were, was a real one. 玩具狗叫起来像真狗。B 注意 It isnt as if的翻译:It isnt as if he were poor. 他不像穷的样子(或他又不穷)。It isnt as if you were going away for good. 又不是你离开不回来了。9 I like the way you talk. to do sth. This is the way to solve the problem. way + of doing sth. This is the way of solving the problem.
14、从句 This is the way he solves the problem. that +从句 This is the way that he solves the problem. in which +从句 This is the way in which he solves the problem.10. as the twon closck struck twelve. a bearded old man. 这是as 引导时间状语从句。注意区别:when, while, asWhenwhileas的区别 when是at or during the time that, 既指时间点,
15、也可指一段时间; while是during the time that,只指一段时间,因此when引导的时间状语从句中的动词可以是终止性动词,也可以是延续性动词,而while从句中的动词必须是延续性动词。 when 说明从句的动作和主句的动作可以是同时,也可以是先后发生;while 则强调主句的动作在从句动作的发生的过程中或主从句两个动作同时发生。 由when引导的时间状语从句,主句用过去进行时,从句应用一般过去时;如果从句和主句的动作同时发生,两句都用过去进行时的时候,多用while引导,如: a. When the teacher came in, we were talking. 当此句改变主从句的位置时,则为: While we were talking, the teacher came in. b. They were singing while we were dancing. when和while 还可作并列连词。when表示“在那时”;while表示“而,却”,表对照关系。如: a. The children were running to move the bag of rice when they heard the sound of a motor bike. 孩子们正要跑过去搬开那袋米,这时他们听到了摩托车的声音。 b. He is strong wh
