9、 with which a tooth system is finish-cut, e.8. hobs, gear milling curr;r;?ak-oFrars. When the tooth system has been roughed out by tools having a reference profile III or IV, the tool with reference profile I does not contact the base of the gear teeth during the finishing operation. It can also be

10、used for tools required t o leave a very mall machining allowance, e.g. for shaving. Reference Erofile II is likewise intended for tools with which a tooth systeo is finish-cut, e.g. pinion type cutters. It can also be used for hobs when a fairly large radius is required at the base of the teeth. Fu

11、rthermore, it may be used for tools required t o leave I very soall machining allowance, e.g. for aharing. Reference profile III IiifEIChgl.-cutting nachine is set t o the whole depth of tooth required t o be l e f t smaller than that yielded by reference profile III, this can be done by increasing

12、the depth setting of the gear-cutting MaChiIIa. This w i l l impart t o the gear a dedendua hfr which is greater than 1.25 m . Tool profile modifications undertaken for the purpose of securing better profile entry configurations (e.g. 6fg6-il.-t the base of the teeth), or for the purpose of relieving the dedend

14、um of the gear to obtain easier finishing by shaving (by giving the addendum more thickness) are not standardlted. Cutters of these types count as special designs and are subject t o agreement between the customer and the tool supplier. Calculation of the quantity hg ofbr vaI of machining allowance
