ObjectiveClauses(宾语从句).在复合句中作宾语的从句叫宾语从句,它通常位于主句谓语动词(及物动词)或介词之后。基本形式为:主句的主语+主句的谓语+关联词+宾语从句。e.g.Ibelievethatwecanachievethegoal.e.g.Iwonderif/whetherGracehasfinishedherhomework.宾语从句的关联词1.that引导的宾语从句
宾语从句是陈述句时,用that引导。that无词义,在从句中不
充当成分,在口语和非正式文体中常常省略。
e.g.Marythinks(that)theboatracesarefuntowatch.
Allthestudentsthink(that)Mr.Zhangishumorous.Iknow(that)youareright.Theybelievethatrobotswilltaketheplaceofhumanbeings.以下情况that不能省略:句中出现两个或两个以上的由that引导的宾语从句时,第一个从句的that可以省略,其余的并列宾语从句中的that要保留。e.g.Hesaid(that)thebookwasveryinterestingandthatallthe
childrenlikedtoreadit.it作形式宾语代替that引导的宾语从句时,that一般不省略。e.g.Ithinkitnecessarythatheshouldstayhere.在介词except,in等后面的宾语从句,that不省略。e.g.Theybelieveinthatshemuststillbesingle.that引导的宾语从句中,当主句的主语是第一人称(I/we),并且谓语动词是think,guess,believe,suppose,expect等时,如果宾语从句要表达否定意思,一般将否定转移到主句上来,即“否定前移”。e.g.Idon’tthinkthegirlcandotheworkalone.
我认为这个女孩不能独自做这项工作。Wedon’tbelievethatyouareright.我们相信你是错的。
2.if/whether引导的宾语从句
当宾语从句的语义相当于一个一般疑问句时,常用if/whether
引导,表示“是否”。if/whether在句中不充当句子成分,但不
能省略。
e.g.Iwonderif/whetheryouwanttoattendthemeeting.Shedidn’tsayifherauntwasstillwiththem.Idon’tknowwhetheryoulikeflowers.以下情况只能用whether:与ornot连用时,只能用whether。e.g.I’mwonderingwhetherIshouldgototheparty
ornot.在介词后只能用whether。e.g.Theyaretalkingabout
whethertheboycanwinthegameagain.与动词不定式连用时,只能用whether。e.g.Ican’tdecidewhether

际表达的需要来确定。

例如,把左侧的四句话变为宾语从句是:

3)当宾语从句说明的是客观存在的事实、规律或真理时,不论
主句是什么时态,从句都要用一般现在时。e.g.Weknew
