Beatenfirstbythemarchoftechnologyandlatelybytheterribleweatherinjunkyards(废品场),thephone

boxesrepresentativeofanagearenowmakingsomethingofacomeback.Adaptedinimaginativeways,many

havereappearedoncitystreetsandvillagegreenshousingtinycafes,cellpnonerepairshopsoreven

Theoriginalironboxeswiththeroundroofsfirstappearedin1926.TheyweredesignedbyGilesGilbertScott,

sellingthem.Hesaidthathehadheardthecallstopreservetheboxesandhadseenhowsomeofthemwere

villagesaspeoplefoundnewusesforthem.Today,theyareonceagainafamiliarsight,playingrolesthatare
