Slat

is

an

inventor

from

the

Netherlands.

He

likes

to

create

big

projects

to

solve

big

problems,

like

plastic

pollution

in

our

oceans.

When

he

was

a

teenager,

he

started

a

project

called

The

Ocean

Cleanup

to

help

with

this

problem.

While

on

vacation

in

Greece

at

the

age

of

16,

he

went

scuba

saw

more

plastic

bags

than

fish

in

the

sea.

This

made

him

wonder

“Why

clean

up?”

So,

he

started

researching

the

problem

and

technological

solutions

studies
