本模块为外研社高中下学期Book3Module3的内容。
题材内容与学习目的:充分认识各种自然灾害的特征和给人类带来的灾害,提高与其并
战胜之的决心和信心,努力学习,打好基础,争取为人类发展作出贡献。

教材分析
本模块为外研社高中下学期Book3Module3的内容。本模块以TheViolenceofNature
为话题主要介绍了Tornado,Hurricane和earthquakes这些自然灾害的特征和对人类造成的
危害。通过本模块的教学,让学生充分认识各种自然灾害的特征和给人类带来的危害,提高
与其斗争并战胜之的决心和信心,努力学习,打好基础,争取为人类发展做出贡献;掌握有
关自然灾害的词汇并能够运用本单元出现的单词、句型、语法,借鉴文章的良好组织结构,
学会描写灾害发生的时间、地点、情形、经过、最后的结果、造成的危害、人员财产损失的
情况、救灾人员的工作以及救灾英雄。在充分利用教材资源的基础上,结合学生的实际情况
设计教学活动,旨在帮助学生有效地掌握关键词汇,培养阅读技巧和训练写作的能力,达到
综合运用英语的目的。
教材教学的重难点:与自然灾害有关的词汇;理解课文了解龙卷风和飓风的特征和危害
以及飓风中发生的离奇事件;了解环太平洋地震带上发生过的重大地震,让学生了解自然灾
害的破坏性,提高学生防灾减灾的意识,加强在灾害发生时自我保护的意识以及参与抗灾救
灾的社会责任感,本模块的学法教学是间接引语和过去完成式的被动。
本模块的教学可以分为5个课时,第一课时单词认知,让学生了解与自然灾害有关的词
汇,第二课时课文理解和课文重点讲解,通过课文理解了解自然灾害的特征,危害和对人们
生活的影响,掌握描写自然发生的句型,第三课时写作,首先借助课本上的听力进一步了解
自然灾害和收集描写自然灾害的句型等,然后运用本模块所学描写一次自然灾害。第四课时
阅读文化角,了解还太平洋地震带上发生的重大地震情况,并扩展一些避震措施和自救方法,
第五课时复习本模块所学知识。这五个课时的课型分别是词汇课、阅读课、写作课、阅读课
和复习课。
学情分析
1.虽然学生对这些自然灾害有一定的了解,但由于处于平原地区,非自然灾害多发区,所以
学生在对自然灾害的感知方面欠缺,生活经验方面也不足。
2.高一下学期,经过一个学期的学习,学生已经基本掌握了教材的安排,也有一定的自主学
习能力,但由于本届生源较差,学生在基础知识方面存在很大的漏洞,而本模块不仅词汇量
大,而且晦涩难懂,学生掌握起词汇来有一定的难度,课文的理解也是一知半解,运用更是
难上加难。
3.高一学生正是处于好奇心强的一个时期,通过图片和视频的嵌入也可以让学生深刻感受自
然灾害,并对它的危害有一定的了解,以此呼吁学生们要保护环境,减少自然灾害,减少人
类的损失。同时在教学过程中增加遇到自然灾害的自救办法,教会他们逃生的办法,对他们
的生活大有裨益。
4.知识的掌握还是需要一遍遍的重复记忆和练习,因此充分的复习和习题巩固是很有必要的。
