SDG16,asakeyenablerforthe2030Agenda.Itfeatures
actionstheDepartmenthastakenatinternational,regional,

capacity-buildingsupportandtoolstoGovernmentsand
institutionstoeffectivelydeliverontheSDGs.

securefuture.Department’sactivities.In2022-2023,UNDESApromotedDepartment’sworktotackletheclimateandenvironmental
fullyinclusivediscourseinkeyUNprocesses,amplifyingthecrises,byensuringasynergisticimplementationofthe2030
ThiseditionoftheUNDESAAnnualHighlightsreportalignsvoicesofolderpersons,youthandpersonswithdisabilities.AgendaandtheParisAgreement.Thisincludesasuccessful
withpreviouseditionsindemonstratinghowUNDESAstrivesTheDepartmentprovidedcapacity-buildingsupportforUnitedNations2023WaterConference,aswellasfollow-up
todeliverconcreteachievementsinitsthreekeypillarsofworkvulnerablegroups,includingsmall-scalefarmersandwomentokeyeventsonoceans,energyandforests.Together,these

seeminglyconvergedtounderminetheglobalcommunity’s
thereportdemonstratesUNDESA’salignmentwiththesupporttoMemberStatesincollectingofficialdatacrucialto2023,attheFourthInternationalConferenceonSmallIsland
resolvetoachieveitsSustainableDevelopmentGoals(SDGs).
Secretary-General’scallforarescueplanforpeopleandplanetmonitorandassessSDGprogress.DespitethemanychallengesDevelopingStates,theannualHigh-levelPoliticalForumandAtthishalf-waypoint,onlyfifteenpercentoftheSDGtargets
toaccelerateeffortstowardsachievingtheSDGswithjustinmeetingtheGoalsby2030,underlyingworktoexpandtheSummitoftheFutureareamongthosecriticalmomentsof
withtrenddataareontracktobeachievedby2030.The
sevenyearsleftinourjourney.thecoverageandavailabilityofdataforSDGmonitoringhasactionandaccountabilitythatwilldemosntraterwhetherornot
