Step2:Prereading(5minutes)

Introduceandexplainthekeyvocabularyrelatedtocustomsandetiquette.

Askstudentsiftheyhaveexperiencedanyawkwardsituationswhenencounteringdifferentgreetingcustoms.

Step3:Whilereading(15minutes)

DistributehandoutswiththereadingpassagefromSectionA(3a).

Instructstudentstoreadthepassagesilentlyandtakenotesonthemainideasandsupportingdetailsregardingculturaletiquette.

Afterreading,askseveralprehensionquestionstocheckunderstandingandclarifyanydoubts.

Step4:Postreading(15minutes)

DirectstudentstopletetheexercisesfromSectionA(3b)thatinvolveunscramblingsentencesrelatedtothereadingpassage.

Reviewtheanswersasaclassanddiscussanychallengingpoints.

Focusonthetargetlanguagestructureforgivingadviceusing"should."Writeexamplesentencesontheboardandpracticewiththewholeclass.
